It's been years since I've flown into Detroit. With family there we tended to drive. But this was a quick overnight trip due to time constraints. I arrived about 1pm yesterday to an eerily quiet airport with few vendors open. It was shocking. This morning there was lots more activity, even before 6:30am. I'm fortunate to have had an early flight, with the expectation of having breakfast at home. The choices were thin. I grabbed a cappuccino and ate a power bar I'd brought to tide me over. On the positive side, it was clean, and there were no delays going through security.

Not the best airport in the world but definitely most simplest airport you can find. Simple and easy, you can’t get lost in the airport, only 2 terminals delta terminal (McNamara) and the (north) terminal. There’s is a tram that goes to one end to another to get to your gates quickly. Great airport overall.

Flying in everything was pretty quiet inside the airport. Airport itself is very lovely and clean, but flying out last week was different. It was a bit crowed and very busy. People were not social distancing and no one seem to care. I still enjoyed the cute shops and helpful staff.

I flew in and out of McNamara with Delta. Everything was clean and tidy. The announcement are clear. If there is a gate change - they let you know. People social distance themselves for the most part. Quick through TSAPre-check. Bag also arrived quickly. 5 star!

My last experience at Detroit Metro was amazing! I flew right through security with no problems. I didn't even have to take anything out of my bag, everything was smooth and fluent. my flight was able to take off early which meant I got to land early in Myrtle Beach. Two thumbs up!

Just had to spend 3 days here due to the power outages at the Atlanta Airport. Wanted to show my appreciation for Kimberly B and Tad who worked the Ticketing Assistance Desk at DELTA. Y'all were the only saving grace of the whole trip, so thankful for you!!! Y'all were the best Delta employees we dealt with. Forever grateful for your excellent customer service, knowledge, and sympathy. THANK YOU!

Great airport! Well laid out with excellent opportunities for food, shopping, and more! Easy access to two interstates and there are six runways to accommodate all the landings and takeoffs. So many destinations from A to Z. The parking, ground transportation, and shuttles are solid. Also gotta love the people mover/underground walkway at the McNamara Terminal.

Airport was super clean. Needed help finding something and the people working were super helpful. I spent most of my time at the Delta Sky Lounge and had a great experience there. Definitely don’t mind connecting here again.

Love this airport! It is always incredibly clean. TSA is usually pretty fast, depending on peak times. The variety of direct flights is fantastic, this is such a great hub! With that, is a large airport, be prepared to walk. Great selection of restaurants. I love the tunnel to concourse B and C: there is music and lights that play along.
It being my home airport and just 30 minutes from our house makes it even better!response / report this review -

So glad this airport is getting good reviews - many years ago it was always known as a crappy airport, but I've been going through there for years now and have had no issues. Plus it's really calming when Delta changes gates 15 times to go through the tunnel of lights. Well played Metro!

It’s pretty bid airport with decent amount of food options. Toilets are clean. I often travel from the airport and I never find any hassle to pass the security check.. overall I will give it 5 stars

Excellent airport: the best I’ve ever been.
A new, huge airport with lots of good services and conveniences for passengers:
26 food-related shops like restaurants, cafes, diners, bars, pubs, ice cream parlors etc. Starbucks, McDonald’s etc.
A great, comfortable and affordable hotel inside the airport facilities.
Many shops with souvenirs and jewelry.
Pet-friendly airport, with a modern “pet relief area”.
A large hall/lounge with a soothing piano playing automatically all the time, just beside a beautiful water fountain with “dancing” water jets.response / report this review -

Organized and clean ,modern, wide and spacious airport for sure. That, alone, helps with airline travel stress. The train helps if you are in a rush on those gates they serve, and if you are not on the train route, you go underground in the funky moving floors and still make good travel time. Out of all the big hubs I have been to, I really like this one the best. Many restaurants and little shops everywhere if you have that time.
Can't judge distance on the sloppy airlines, so I won't bring that in to this review here, except about the train and moving floor. I will say that Embers Lounge is new and way at the end of wing (not sure which one) and it's a relaxing place for a food entree and drink, yet you are not cooped up in a packed restaurant bar area. This is pretty new, I was told. I've traveled many times through this hub and I never remember it being that area.response / report this review -

One of my favorite airports in the US to make a connection. If you are flying Delta then choose a layover in Detroit. Clean, efficient and beautiful airport with great food options on the delta terminal. Coming international ? The immigration is a breeze compared to Chicago or Atlanta.

Pretty solid airport. Landing here was a little awkward with baggage check being on a lower level, prompting a lot of users to rely on elevators to leave. Security was easy but were unnecessarily slow at processing bags. Biggest gripe is the lack of locations to pass time near the gates (like bars or restaurants) and no Priority Pass spot at all is a major problem. I know a lot of these aren't the responsibility of the airport, but the airport should have some capability to encourage these business and locations to expand.
All in all, I wouldn't refuse to use this airport, but I wouldn't be excited about it.response / report this review -

One of the best airports in the country to connect through. Basically one long terminal that has an elevated train running down it. Super fast connections and great restaurants and shops.

I flown out of Delta for the first time from Detroit on Friday. I usually fly Southwest or American. I got on Spirit once, never again however Delta was great! The lady at the gate was wonderful, her name was Juliana. My experience with Delta was nice and I will be flying out tonight and I hope that my experience will be great again tonight when I fly out AZ.

It's a very clean and simple airport. Getting from one end to the other is really simple. It's almost surprising how logical the layout is, getting from on gate to another is super easy!

I quite like Detroit Airport. The airport is not big but it has nice facilities and architect. A plus is you can travel in a cute train near the roof to get from a gate to another.
