  A-Maze-Ing baked goods.and friendly staff. Take a cake home, or have a slice and some coffee right there. $6 a slice.

  Need to update your hours. Google says you're open untill 9 but I'm here at 8pm on a Tuesday and you're closed.

  For the third week in a row I've gone to dessert deli only to be disappointed by the lack of selection and the terrible customer service. They used to be very accommodating and would offer to cut a cake that you want if they didn't have it already available. They would combine cakes in their case to make more space in order to cut something else for you. This is absolutely no longer the case as they have refused on several occasions to cut into another cake when there is room in their case. There has been one slice of cake taking up a spot in their case and in the past when they would combined to make room they have refused and will not accommodate you. I find this especially true when the 20 something Asian male is working. It was my experience last night that convinced me my review needed to be updated. There was a line of eight people waiting to be served around 6 PM. Their hours have changed and this is no longer they're closing time as they close around nine or 10 PM. The first two customers asked for a cake to be cut for them and although visibly annoyed he cut the cake which was a mocha cake. We continue to wait in line behind another couple and with another couple behind us while to other employees went about their business ignoring the line. After about five minutes he got to the next people in line who also asked for something to be cut which he refused to do. As I stood in line with my husband it was obvious that they were not going to cut anything else but we decided to wait and ask and may we would be pleasantly surprised. While waiting over 10 minutes to be served, again while to other employees looked at us and then continue to go about their business, we talked to the couple behind us who were also disgusted with the level of customer service on their last three visits to Dessert Deli. Now my husband and I are usually willing to see if there something else that is already cut in the case however, The lemon cake, mango cake, strawberry cake, and the recently cut mocha cake all sounded terrible and would appeal to someone with very specific tastes. The cake that we asked to be cut was a chocolate cake or vanilla cake either of which we would have purchased had he agreed to cut either however he refused stating "we are just going with what is in the case currently and we are not cutting anything new tonight" which is the exact same thing he said to me two weeks prior again when they were still open for another four hours. The couple in front of us eventually agreed to find something else to purchase, again at 7 to 8 dollars a slice, not the thing that they had initially wanted to get. When they again refused to cut anything or move items to make more room in the case we left as did the couple behind us who incidentally wanted to purchase two slices of the same thing a couple in front of us wanted to purchase. This means that they would've sold half of the tart but again refused to. My husband and I eat very healthy throughout the week and go to dessert deli almost every Saturday for a sweet treat. They get a lot of business from us including birthday cakes that I purchased yearly. This time, Absolutely disgusted at the utter lack of customer service, or appreciation for that matter, we just walked out. The couple behind us also walked out. They didn't care at all. With the cost of their cakes and cookies we would've spent at least $40-$50 between the four of us, but apparently our business is not good enough for dessert deli anymore. I will give them one more shot as you can see from the review below they didn't used to be this way. But if this happens again I would rather never have a slice of cake again than give this business my money. I don't know if they're under new management or if they just think they're so important that people will continue to go to them no matter how they treat them but I can assure you I will not. The only reason this is not one star is because their desserts are still delicious.

  You're not going to get better gourmet style desserts at these prices. The cherry almond tart is the best dessert I've ever had. Work of edible art.

  The store is focused more on selling entire cakes than what I expected. The choices for sit-down deserts were quite limited. I had a slice of oreo cheesecake, my wife had a creamy chocolate desert. Without drinks, the bill was $14 & tax. Pricier than we expected, but the deserts were tasty.
