Designer Hardware by Faye was founded January 1, 1982 by industry icon and pioneer Faye Norton. Prior to starting Designer Hardware, Faye spent 11 years specifying commercial hardware projects in the Oklahoma City area. When a customer asked her to develop a hardware schedule for his custom multi-million dollar home, Faye's talent resulted in a new vision and business opportunity. Designer Hardware was realized and Oklahoma City was introduced to exquisite decorative hardware and high-end plumbing selections.

In July of 2011 Faye brought back her second employee she hired in 1982, Garvin Boyd to run the company and eventually acquire Designer Hardware by Faye. On January 1, 2014 Garvin Boyd, along with his financial partner assumed ownership of Designer Hardware & Plumbing, LLC, doing business as Designer Hardware by Faye. Garvin Boyd has invested 8 years at Designer Hardware by Faye and 28 years in the industry overall. Garvin will preserve the integrity of Designer Hardware by Faye, working hard to always bring you the best products, the best product knowledge and provide you with the best Hardware & Plumbing Showroom in the state of Oklahoma. The Legacy will live on and you will receive the personalized service you have come to expect.
On January 5, 2015 Designer Hardware & Plumbing, L.L.C. was pleased to announce that its strategic partnership with GCC Supply Company LLC is expanding to better serve their mutual clients in the commercial architectural, design, and construction industry in the Oklahoma City market! The principals of the companies, Garvin Boyd and Bill Dillard established a new commercial division: Designer Hardware Commercial, DHC, and is consolidating the resources and activities of GCC Supply Company LLC into Designer Hardware Commercial.
In July 2015 - Designer Hardware & Plumbing, LLC dba Designer Hardware & Plumbing by Faye, announced the merger of Teresa Close - Get A Handle On It to their team. Teresa has run a successful hardware & plumbing business in Oklahoma City for the past 17 years. This business opportunity allows Teresa to do more of what she loves to do and that is, assisting her existing and new clients with their hardware and plumbing selections, checking on jobs and providing excellent support. Teresa’s new title will be Business Development Manager.
