Weltin Streb & Weltin represents individuals or groups of people in federal workers’ compensation claims (OWCP) under the jurisdiction of the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, Defense Base Act and Nonappropriated Fund Instrumentalities Act.
The firm is staffed with six attorneys, two certified paralegals, two administrative/legal assistants, and a receptionist. All of the employees work as a team for the injured victim.

What should I do if I get injured at work?
-You should notify your supervisor or employer representative immediately or as soon as possible.
-If you require medical attention for your injury, you should obtain treatment as soon as possible.
-You are entitled to select a physician of your choice to treat the effects of your injury. You should ask your employer for a Form LS-1, Request for Examination and/or Treatment, which authorizes medical treatment. However, in a medical emergency, you may request authorization from your employer or its insurance carrier after obtaining emergency treatment.
Mr. Streb has over 25 years’ of experience representing maritime workers and members of various unions including the ILWU, SUP, MFOW, Operating Engineers, Iron Workers, IBU, AMO, MEBA and IOMM&P of which he is a past member. Mr. Streb has valuable experience in LHWCA claims, as well as Defense Base Act claims.
In the past, Patrick has sailed as a licensed U.S. Coast Guard deck officer for various United States shipping companies, totaling to more than 10 years of experience. Additionally, he has experience working aboard tug boats, barges, fishing vessels, offshore supply vessels and other small craft. This experience has allowed him to become an expert in piloting, navigation, boat handling, weather readings, cargo handling as well as maritime safety. He was honorably discharged with the title of Lieutenant from the United States Naval Reserve.
