I got a Deva Cut and couldn't love it more! They did an amazing job of perfecting each and every curl to keep my hair looking healthy. I also got one of the best scalp massages!

I had an unpleasant experience at this salon. Got highlights, showed pictures (of myself) letting the colorist know how blonde I wanted my hair. Sat in that chair for hours and walked out with nearly the same color I walked in with. The worst part is that I didn't even see the color of my hair until the very end. From color I was passed off to someone new for shampoo then someone else new for a cut. The fella that cut my hair did a poor job as well. I just asked for a couple inches off, nothing extra or difficult. The end result was uneven and tapered to the front. It wasn't until he finished blow drying and spun me toward the mirror that I realized the color was not what I expected or wanted. Going on hour 5 being in there only to be disappointed by the color and the cut - I just wanted to leave. By then the accountability was long gone. I was passed off to someone else no one asked me if I was happy with the result or otherwise. I had to go to another salon to get the color and cut corrected. Apparently, House of Dear has a policy that does not allow for refunds but did offer to try again. Why would I let them try again? This was a very expensive visit and to get it this wrong and take no responsibility, I am very surprised and disappointed. I will never return to this salon and I will make sure my friends/family also do not waste their time/money here. Another little detail is that the front desk told me the colorist was finishing up with someone else when I arrived - but then my colorist let me know they were stuck in traffic and late. Why lie? Except now I'm not surprised. No accountability.

Kristen R. is always THE BEST! I drive nearly 25 miles in crazy Dallas traffic to see her every 6 weeks for the last 4 years. She’s the best for color. I get compliments even when I’m faded out and due to see her again.

This is a review for this specific appointment only. I’ve had good experiences here in the past! I came in with an appointment to get a Keratin Smoothing treatment. I’ve had three and love them! For some reason, the stylist thought I’d be better off with a Brazilian Blowout. And I figured he knew best and it was worth a shot. Well, I can hardly tell a difference in my hair from before the BB and after. The Keratin makes a huge difference in my hair and I gain a ton of time back because doing my hair is so fast after Keratin. Not so with the Brazilian. Lesson for all of us (including myself)….don’t try to fix what isn’t broken!

I love this hair salon! I just moved to Dallas, due to my indigenous beliefs, it’s important to find a trustworthy hairstylist. Not everyone can touch your hair. This is the spot, I have stayed loyal to Dustin and he always leaves my hair looking smooth, healthy and just plain amazing! Their products are also amazing, leaving your hair silky!

I have been a loyal client of Holly Dear and and Mickey Black for years but what makes Dear Clark an amazing salon is that everyone who works there is creative and talented. I am not someone who gets the same color or cut every visit and instead leave it to them but if you aren't that free will then bring pictures or ideas but also be open because part of what makes them great is their honesty of not every hair color or cut looks good on everyone but if you're willing to work with them you'll leave with a look that's makes you feel beautiful! (Pictures are of my last 3 visits; red hair is only 3 days old)

I have been going to Dear Clark for close to half a year now and have always enjoyed my experience. My stylist, Bryon Lloyd always take a lot of care and time into my hair cuts and I leave always feeling very grateful and more than satisfied with his craft. Go see him and the others at Dear Clark and get the best hair care of your life!

    Edit--
The owners of Dear Clark contacted me to apologize about the situation and were very sweet. Apparently they had some issues with the particular manager that I had been in contact with, and he no longer works there.

They gave me a full refund, as well as a voucher for a free haircut for my next visit. While I am still disappointed with the haircut I got at my previous visit, I am appreciative of the reaction by Dear Clark's owners, and will most likely go back and see a different stylist.

After my most recent experience with Dear Clark and its management I will never return again.

I scheduled an appointment for a trim on a Friday afternoon. I thought I gave sufficient instructions on how I wanted my hair cut (just a basic trim) but the hairstylist didn't do that. By the time she was done, my hair was waay shorter than I intended, had no shape, had layers ~3 inches shorter on one side than the other (didn't notice until I got home), and looked horrible. I basically walked out of the salon in tears, and cried the entire drive home.

I decided to wait a few days in case I just didn't like the way she styled it, but after washing and styling myself I realized that it really did look bad. I scheduled a follow up appointment to see what could be done about it. The new stylist I saw basically just told me that all he could do was the cut the longer layers to match the short layers. As I did not at all want my hair to be that short I declined and decided to let it grow out and get it recut later.

I spoke with the manager Thomas about my situation, and he agreed to give me a refund since I was so disappointed by my experience. He told me it would take about 5 business days for the refund to be reflected on my card. A few weeks later I called since the refund had not gone through, and he said that he would get right on it and contact the credit card merchant. I called again about a month after that after still not seeing anything about the refund. I received the same message that time. Now, about 3 months after my hair cut I still have not received a refund or any message from Thomas or any of the other management staff at Dear Clark.

I'm very disappointed with my experience here. Based on their reviews I was expecting much more. Would not recommend coming here, it's not worth it for a $80 cut.

I have naturally curly hair, not super kinky, but still enough curl to need some special attention. I hadn't cut it in almost a year for fear of finding a new stylist that wouldn't understand how to work with my hair. I was so happy to find a salon that places an emphasis unique cutting and styling techniques for curly hair! Dustin was my stylist and he took his time and had patience with me as he had to reset my hair before cutting it. He was cheerful the whole time, made sure to educate me on technique and products throughout the session, and I left so happy with my soft, healthy curls! He sent me home with a sample of the gel we used and I've been able to replicate the look very easily for a couple of weeks now. I am glad I found someone I trust with my hair. Definitely recommend!

Thank god for Tanisha I called in on a Saturday morning expressing my desperate need for a cut 'fix' and they hooked me up. Tanisha made room for me during her busy day and I am so thankful. I'd never been to Dear Clark before, but the whole experience was amazing. Everything from the dog that greeted me at the door, to the customers/staff - it was awesome. I'll definitely be returning to Tanisha. She did an OUTSTANDING job with my long hair!

I don't know where to begin. I was excited to go there on my birthday for a much needed haircut and color and walked out thinking, 'wow, that wasinteresting'. First, you're greeted by a 'what's going on' that translates into 'what do you want for your hair', so don't go into any details about your vida, lol. Second, if you're going to get any color done, make sure their chair heater works otherwise you might not end up with the exact hue you were wanting. Lastly, if you decide to get your hair cut by Holly (owner) just beware that yes, she is magical with the scissors, but she is killer with that round brush. I went to the bathroom to find blood spots all over my scalp. I quickly notified the girl at the front desk who was horrified when I showed her and she walked over to grab Holly. Holly then comes over as we both walk to the bathroom so I can show her. She shook her head and blamed it on, Lauren, who did my color and I had to remind Holly that Lauren didn't work on my roots. She kept denying it and stated she had never received complaints before. I was shocked and at this point I just wanted to get out of there. I give it three stars because I like that they have their own natural and cruelty-free products.
Dear Clark, you have a super cute salon that is obviously booming, but please don't forget that it's all about the service and just admit your mistakes when you've made them-denying or blaming someone else that works for you is a low-blow.
    Kind regards,
A first time costumer who (literally) paid for more than what she wanted

0 STARS. Not only did I waste 4.5 hours while my hair was being destroyed, but I am still dealing with it 6 months later.

I asked for a subtle color change (I have darker brown hair) and came out completely BLEACHED. The damage it had done to my hair has been irreversible with countless treatments and products. It's fried.

The cut - I asked for a shoulder length bob with a couple little wispy layers and ended up with a full blown shag. Not even close, lady. The top layer was only about 3 inches long and not only that, the one short layer wasn't even blended in.

Between the awful cut and horrendous color, I might as well have started introducing myself as Sammy Hagar. The only assistance I was provided was a half-assed "fix" by the same guy who fried my hair in the first place.

If you love long term emotional distress, looking like a washed up 80's hair band member, and losing lots of money to get all that, then Dear Clark is for you!

This was my first visit to Dear Clark, and I don't trust a lot of people with my hair. I wanted to go really blonde, almost unrealistic from the point I was at. Teresa did an amazing job with my hair color and it ended up exceeding my expectations. Pryor did my haircut and blow out and I couldn't be happier how it turned out. I'm impressed with this place and I'll definitely be returning in the future.

Not attentive or prompt, for the money I'm paying to be there, why would the appointment app tell me it would only take 30 minutes but an hour and a half later I'm finally just getting my hair cut. Do not go here if you have other places to be. They seem nice enough, but weren't listening to me when I told them I had to be quick. Hair cut was okay, no where near worth $145. Won't be going there again anytime soon. Thanks anyways!

All I have to say is, BEWARE. I received a coupon for a half set of lashes here so I decided to try them out and I made my appointment online. I am going out of town this weekend, so i specifically planned my whole day/week around the appointment. Then, the day of, i get an email from the salon asking if we can reschedule. I explained my situation and that there was no other time that would work and the manager Thomas responded that there was some confusion but that the appointment was still on. So then, i get another call that afternoon with a voicemail asking me to reschedule again. At this point, i had decided it wasn't even worth it, so i emailed the manager back to let him know that i was confused but just needed to know one way or the other. The manager then says that we will have to reschedule, but offered me complimentary lash service. So then, i go about my evening and decide instead to go to a friends birthday party, when i get ANOTHER call from the salon at 7pm asking where i am at! Seriously?! So then, i felt obligated to rush over there and get my lashes done, which i did, and felt bad about having to leave my friends party. So basically, i as the customer was made to feel like i had to plan my schedule around the salon. But, since Thomas was offering the service for free now, i decided to let it go and go anyway. When i got there, the lash lady pressured me into getting a full set instead of a half set, which i was thinking would still be free because of Thomas's email, plus the coupon i already had. WRONG. After all that fiasco, they went back on their word and still charged me for the service. The manager was like "oh well i offered you the free service because i thought we were rescheduling." For real?! What kind of customer service is this. Never in my wildest dreams would i have gotten lash extensions without a coupon. I never would have agreed to a full set had i known they were not going to be free. Now i am 150 in the hole, which i never intended to spend in the first place because i had a free coupon, plus they screwed me out of my plans that i made after they tried to reschedule. I had to dip into my trip budget to pay for this when i was under the impression the ENTIRE time that it was free, and nobody bothered to mention otherwise. So there you have it. Then, the manager had the nerve to give me another coupon for next time. Ha! There will be no next time for me. I honestly didn't know how to react, although i probably should have said all this while i was there. I just hate being that crazy lady at places like that, plus i was in pure shock. I have never felt more scammed in my entire life.

I came to Dear Clark for the first time in November. The appointment was made the same day even though it was a Saturday! I had Alex cut and style my hair. I had attempted to cut some of it at home and failed (foolish I know; lesson learned), so I needed it fixed without going too short. Alex assessed my hair, gave a thorough shampoo & condition, took his time, payed attention to detail, used excellent technique, and wanted me to be pleased. It was a relaxing experience and my hair turned out PERFECT & bouncy. Plus, he was easy going and nice. Im so happy with my hair that I will go back to him again. Ive never had an experience that top notch and the cost was worth every penny. Thank you, Alex!

Every time I walk through the doors at Dear Clark, I know that things will go perfectly! They are on time, courteous, professional, and welcoming. I couldn't be happier to have found my salon-home. It's been over a year and I have yet to have a single complaint! Thank you!

My stylist, Maria, has my fullest confidence, so much so that I now leave my hair to her expertly artistic whim! She is creative, kind, and talented, able to develop an easy rapport that helps her know exactly what is in and out of bounds. Whether it's a cut, style, or color I know it's going to be perfect very time!

I first found out about Dear Clark right after they won best Salon in Dallas 2016. I did a google search to find a reputable salon for color correction. I love the online booking option! Lauren was able to get me in right away to do a color correction that looked so gorgeous you would never know my hair used to look unintentionally pink & blue!!! I have found my new stylist in Lauren. It's been 6 months now and each time I see her, I leave looking my best! Beautiful color and cut (especially my bangs which are my signature look). Lauren is awesome! The salon is bright with clean lines and they even have their own dog shampoo!! Highly recommend!!!

Had my hair cut and colored by Erica Wilson today. I have to say I. Am. In. Love! The color and cut are both top notch, as is she! She was great at setting expectations before we started, and then she went above and beyond that. I highly recommend seeing Erica at Dear Clark.

This is the coolest place, all friendly staff, make you feel special. Oh darn I said too much, it's hard enough to get into this place 😞 oh well I don't have to tell you about the "awesome" guy that does my hair. Hmm, never mind, ya'll stay away from there. 😉
