This is easily the best zoo we have ever been to. The DeYoung family loves all their animals and it shows. You'll never visit another zoo after making the trek to Michigan.

AMAZING place, people are very friendly. You need to be there for tiger feeding time, the staff is very informative on the animals there and make it fun for kids to learn. If you go there when there are baby animals they will let you hold them and walk them (I got to walk a baby tiger) and they also have feed you can feed the goats with.

This is a favorite summer stop when someone new visits my house wanting to see the local sites or when the grandkids want to see the animals and play with the babies. The staff wonderfully shares their knowledge of the animals that makes my grandkids ooh and aah! Bud is my personal favorite tour guide. He definitely knows his animals and shares some funny and some scary stories about each and every one!

Excellent, clean environment for the animals. Carrie and Bud and their care givers take exceptional care of the. Animals. You can see the love they have for the animals and appreciate each and everyone. This is the THE BEST ZOO I HAVE EVER VISITED.

This zoo was absolutely incredible we loved the larges enclosures the animals had! Watching the tigers and lions get actual meat was amazing feeding the hippo! Petting a baby wolf holding snakes and baby alligators was so cool! We loved the dirt paths the nature look not a paved roads with animals in small cages with sand! It was more of a natural habitat! So cool this will be a yearly trip for me and my family! My 15 month old and 7 year old both enjoyed every moment!

Great zoo, although it doesn't feel like a zoo that much. It's in a rural, forested area and the enclosures are very natural-looking, so it's not a lot of concrete and glass, it's the animals in a natural habitat with a couple fences keeping you separated from the animals.
It's worth the drive amd the cost of entry ($12 for adults) to check this place out. When you get there, be sure to check out the day's schedule so you see as many events as possible; we got there around 10 and left about 1:30 and in that time we saw bear feedings, fed the hippo (kids get to), saw a wolf show, petted wolf, coyote, and dingo pups, and watched the tigers get fed. As long as you know where to be, you can see amazing things.

First time today at this zoo. Came from green bay. Well worth the trip. My daughter got to feed and hold some of the animals and had a great time. Not too small of a place and fun for the whole family. We are planning on going back as much as possible. Great place.

Heard all sorts of good things before going but found it to be better than we even expected. The family that runs it is completely invested in it and showed a great passion for their animals and their guests. It's pretty difficult to show your guests a good time while offering the animals a large and varied living space, but the balance was achieved. A good sized zoo with several interesting animals, including some that were friendly enough to hold under employee supervision. Price was fair and the ability to leave and re-enter was very much appreciated.

Drove 2hrs to find out i seen everything in 1hour. Looks like the cages are too small for some of these animals. I seen a sheep limping, tall grass in some cages. Animals pacing, looked very unhappy. Nothing is paved, not even the parking lot. It's all dirt n walking trails. There were porta potties there, not the greatest for kids! I believe this zoo needs a lot of work done, and the animals need bigger cages. It was a very big disappointment! The best thing about this zoo was when we were leaving

It has been about 6 years since our family was there. Wow, so much has changed! Our guest from down state where glad they went. My husband was happy to see that veterans get in free and sends his thank you for that! Keep up the labor of love you have for what you do!!

It's not a big, paved place - it has a more natural feel. Gravel paths, and just a couple levels of fencing separating you from the animals. Great variety, too - Lions, tigers, panthers, a variety of simians, wolves, and and a variety of wild dogs which weren't clearly marked. Bears, too!

The biggest fault I can find was the empty cages, of which there were quite a few. I assume they were housing the warm-climate animals, as the nights were still chilly when I was there. Also disappointed to not see the hippo at its listed feeding time.

There was an 'animal birthday' event going on when we stopped by, which was pretty fun - they gave the monkeys pinatas full of toys and treats, and had cups of feed available (free of charge) for the pen of goats, yaks, horses, sheep, and one angry-looking emu. It was a great time!

We live about 90 from this zoo and visit at least once a year. It is family-owned and noticeably low-budget. The parking lot is sand or gravel. Almost all of the walkways are sand or gravel. But we love this zoo because of its interactive nature. Visitors are often allowed to hold reptiles and other small animals. Visitors are also invited to participate in feeding some animals (like goats and calves) and to watch feeding other animals (like lions and tigers). We heard about this place because of the reality TV show dedicated to it. The owner is very kind and seems to love children and guests as much as he loves animals.

Love love love this zoo! We made a special trip just to this zoo (2 hour drive) and It was so worth it! This zoo is very organized and always on time with their shows. I got to hold so many different animals. Also got to watch them feed the tigers and it was amazing. We also got to talk to the owners and they are such loving people. If you haven't been to this zoo you need to check it out!
