David's law practice is focused on real estate. He has represented and advised real estate investors in the United States and Asia from the early stages of planning a project, to a project's financing, development, and eventual disposition. His background spans a broad variety of product types, including residential, commercial, condominium, retail, and resort.

David's comprehensive perspective stems from his experience in land use, zoning, title and escrow, transactional real estate, and real estate litigation. He has successfully identified and resolved a broad array of local and state land use, zoning, and permitting matters, and, as a former real estate litigator, is always mindful of issues that may eventually create undesirable outcomes. Combined with a thorough knowledge of title issues specific to Hawaii and a background in real estate finance, David is able to provide strategies for his real estate clients, no matter their size.

David also assists developers and investors to create corporate entities and structures to best meet their development needs and goals. With a particular desire to foster long-term relationships with clients and a desire to build community here in Hawaii, David provides special attention to locally owned companies, assisting them through the various phases of the growth and development of their project.

His areas of concentration include residential and commercial real estate development, condominium law, 1031 exchanges, commercial leasing, negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, conveyance and title transfer, lending and loan negotiation, entitlements, zoning, and permitting, real estate corporate entities, contract negotiation and documentation.

In addition to his private law practice, he is currently Director of Operations for Yacht Harbor Professionals, a boutique real estate advisory with office in Honolulu, Seattle, Dallas, Seoul and Tokyo.
