I work here. It is the third hospital i have worked at. This is by FAR the worst.
The hospital is filthy run down they ran out of money cannot even finish upgrades its been left turn apart for over a year.
This is supposed to be a hospital to treat mental illness instead they just give the patients a place to live. Most not getting much better and just going back in to the system or staying.
Everyone is absolutely miserable a lot of mandation(forced to work doubles) has left people drained and hopeless.
Patients hit, spit, yell threaten you all the time nothing is done about it and it is discouraged to press charges. Even when you do nothing happens. People get hurt all the time we have had 6 or so in the past half year injuries where people still have not come back. Still leadership/management does nothing and treats staff like dispensable ants.
The other employees some are good but most will trash you when you are not around and are just miserable so it makes the place even worse.
I would honestly tell any relatives it is better to die then go here.
you will only get one weekend off a month
You will have to work pretty much every holiday
Have a difficult time getting any time off unless you are the most senior person
LOTS of call offs
To MUCH Gossip
Take a lot of patients from jails
Hopefully this gets shut down as well
Do NOT WORK HERE
Pros for being an employee
its a state job so if you can stick it out till you find a better job because there are a lot of staff that does not deal with patient or get a job somewhere else in the state that only work 37.5 hour weeks and have every day off
