I am going to do something very unique here because I have not been to Cypress church in person and I've listened to the lead pastor a bit and he seems to be good and grounded. My concerns are with your new executive pastor, Jordan Lee. I sat with this concern for a very long time before I've offered this review but there is no way I could not give insight and understanding given the previous reviews I have read of this church which reflect many of the same issues of the church Jordan came from to be with Cypress. I was a member of his previous church, Timberlake in the Seattle metro. From 2013-2016, I was consistently harassed by members of this church and specifically harassed by Jordan to such a degree during a very vulnerable/stressful time in my life in late 2013 that a simple cold during job/home transitioning became pneumonia with two bacterial infections that could have killed me. He and his staff demanded that I attended meetings, and demanded is the right word here, or else. It consistently continued on in this way as I was told that a number of men and women in the church got together to try to frame me as a heretic. The designed meetings to get me to leave the church, not serve, and threaten me if I stayed. I'm not a heretic, and never have been. What the church didn't know was that I was new to WA at that time, having left a previous state due to a rape, a medical school where a child molesting instructor and another instructor who had her medical license revoked tried to dismiss me academically for failing an exam/class I didn't fail. It took me 5 years to find out the truth, protect life, and carry on for persecution I didn't deserve, not there, not at Timberlake, and not from Jordan or his staff. I am highly concerned for this church given the actions and events that occurred at Timberlake with no basis in facts, with the intent to harm another human being. To know that he has this chance to continue at Cypress without correcting what happened at his previous church is concerning and I simply cannot let innocent people in this area not be aware of it. It was disabling, harmful, overwhelming due to a very inexperienced staff not finding out facts and intentionally seeking to harm. I know there are seasons. I have forgiven, but it is very important that those who attend this church understand what women experience at the hands of an all male leadership. This needs to be said, for the safety of women who attend this church.
A vibrant church with an unending love for God, His Son, and the community.
The Worship Service is great!
This week's sermon by Pastor Drew was just what I needed for the week.
A great place to hear God's word, fellowship and find ways to give back to the community. We've been attending since 2008.
This was my first time visiting and I really enjoyed the worship and the message from the pastor. Everyone was very welcoming.
Great church that is very involved in the local community, helping people connect with the right small groups and growth path. Also have K-8 private school on site in Galloway campus.
Great place that continues to have a positive impact on my life. Great community feel, excellent sermons and endless opportunites to connect. The staff is top notch!
Great Church for the most part, but my son played football here a few years ago and his coach, Jason Higgins, turns out has been having an affair with my partner. I confronted him and caught her in his home, but he continues to provoke the affair. If you have wives taking children to sports be advised of this issue. I dont think its appropriate for a coach for cypress to have affairs with mothers and destroy families.
Went to support my sister in law in the baptism today, felt very welcomed. Enjoyed the service!
