CUMAC '80s Night was founded to drive awareness of hunger in New Jersey and raise funds to support NJ food banks. The main concept has been to let a simple church house band, Parish Drive, 'amp up' and grow to 15+ members, then take requests for songs from the 1980s, each request costing anywhere from $20 to $600, and then letting those people making the requests either listen as part of the crowd or sing/play along with the band. \\CUMAC '80s Night is about making connections between those who are hungry and those who can help; between churches under the 'united' banner that work too separately; between band and audience; between reality and living your dream, even if it's only for one night or one song.\\The goal is and will always be to raise money, drive awareness, provide an emotional connection between audience, cause and band, build lasting relationships among a base of NJ Methodist churches, provide sponsors with a unique and valued marketing opportunity, and inspire youth groups to participate.
