Crosswalk community church is a awesome church they are friendly and helpful and polite and lovable and they pray with you
Awesome friendly loving church focused on Christ!
We were visitors to this church last Sunday. We had passed it several times and talked about going for a while. Once we got there, we were enthusiastically greeted and walked through the check in process for our children. We dropped our eldest daughter off with her age group. She is very outgoing and we were sure she would be fine. We (apprehensively) dropped our 3 month old off at the nursery. The lady that took her raved about her years of experience and swore she would "be her best-friend" while she was there.
Jump ahead to after the sermon:
We go to pick up our baby. The woman who was going to be her "best-friend" was not even there. Just two women I hadn't seen before. Fine. Whatever. I can move past that.
We pick our 6 year old up and as we are walking out, she asks if we can buy her a Bible. Yes! Of course! We were elated.
HERE'S where it gets BAD:
We find out later, after we had already left, that she wanted a Bible because she was EXCLUDED from activities and was made to FEEL BAD that she didn't have one. Wait, what?!
We had just sat through a sermon in which they talked about how precious the children are to them, about how great their private school is and how important it is for them to raise $250,000 to renovate the children's room because it is "beige."
Here's the take away:
It doesn't matter what color the room is painted. What matters is how you TREAT the children. No child should ever be made to feel guilty or excluded, especially over something they had no control over.
If my story doesn't bother you, feel free to attend. Just be sure your kid has a Bible unless you don't mind your children being treated that way.
CrossWalk is a place where we love our Lord Jesus and each other!
"Come as you are -- just don't stay that way."
Upreach, Inreach, Outreach. A great place to learn and love.
