I’ve been remodeling homes on the Eastside and King County since 1975. When I started Craig Smith Construction I worked on the job as a remodel carpenter. After 15 years, with a growing company, I decided to take over the office duties full time. My company has built custom homes in and around Seattle, but since 1985 we’ve concentrated exclusively on remodeling. We do all kinds of remodeling, and specialize in additions, kitchens, baths, and storm damage repairs. And yes, we have always been fully licensed, bonded, and insured.

My company is a small, devoted group of people. I manage all company projects, run the office, and handle all sales, and my wife Sandi keeps the books. My crew has been with me for decades, and I get constant positive input from our clients. Many people comment about their work habits and skills, and just as many tell me what nice guys they are. People feel comfortable with them. I think I have the best crew in the business.

All steps from excavation through final finish details are handled by us. There is a minimum of work by subcontractors, but the subs we do use have been with us for years. They are time-tested and reliable, an important part of our team. We use subcontractors for specialty work such as electrical, plumbing, cabinets, slab countertops, and floor covering.

I’ve taken particular pride over the years in getting to know the people we work for. We have a long list of wonderful clients, most of whom are repeat customers. It's a very special thing to get a call from a former client, having instant rapport, talking to an old friend.
