I had to give one star because theres no option for 0 stars. Ive had internet with cox for almost 3 years. My problem started when i moved into my new home. Transferred over and such. Lady told me i needed 2 different internet whatever you call them because i live in a two story and it would only be $7 more. So i bought it. Hook line and sinker. Bill went form 60 bucks to 80. Fast forward to the new year. They didnt hesitate to call me and told me theyd take the other thing off and replace it with cable and it would be the same to make up for my problem. I said why not? As long as my roommate gets the football package instead of hbo im good. Didnt give me the football package, gave me hbo, and 50 less channels than i was told i would have. THEN fast forward 3 months. Found out that hey..we dont even use the cableimma cut it off. Guy told me that i was getting the cable for free and that i was paying for just internet right now. Now will you believe that i just saw my bill and it says that im paying 30/month for cable and 44.99 for internet? Lying cheats. Dont buy cox!

I’d go lower if I could. After hour service is only available to sell you upgrades but can’t help on any other issue. Plan changed without notice and not only stuck with higher bill but also went over due to cancellation of unlimited from previous plan. So, they cancelled the unlimited, I went over, they charge me $50. (5x$10) and then would only help me if I committed to an upgrade. What a joke of a company. Steer clear of this company. Cable company’s are losing Billions every year because no one wants or needs their crappy plans. You would think they would try harder to not keep screwing their customers.

Was promised a cheaper solution to their already overpriced services. Spent 2 hours in store and another 6 hours on the phone to no avail. Everyone said I was stuck with the current rate even though I had a reference number and contact name for the lady who was supposed to reduce our bill. Supposedly she put the code in wrong and cancelled but never contacted me to tell me it didn't work. Stay away. Far, far away.

As bad as it getsThey left my business, which is 90% phone based without service for 72 hours. This was after we scheduled a Saturday appointment.

The worst part? THEY REQUIRED US TO "Upgrade" causing all these issues. I estimate that the down time cost us thousands of dollars.

Truly want to litigateand I HATE lawyers.

Tried to replace a nonfunctional box; they gave me an old one that was repared. The thing was dirty with finger prints and scratch marks on it. I took it back to get a new one, but was told I was not entitled to a new box but would get an old one that has been fixed. Now, the replacement will not even get connected. I will have to call for an in house service. I am surprised that COX has no quality control over the replacement boxes. And much worse, the staff at Fort Walton Beach COX accepts the poor quality. The response was "Well, that's the way it is. They (the boxes) all come that way." No one cares about the poor quality of the product.

I had no issues with this place until it came to ending my account. I physically went in and closed my account and paid the remaining balance off. A year and a half later I get a debt collection notice from them that I now have to dispute all because of the incompetent employee that was working that day. Thankfully I used my debit card and not cash so I have account statements for proof of payment. Do not waste your time!

I have had Cox cable since 1987. I have always been treated great by them. I added the phone when it was available. It was allot easier when they had the office in Niceville because that is where I live. Today I had everything taken care of from a man named Marcus. I did everything from my home which was great with the rainy weather. Marcus was well versed and took care of all my arrangements. He knows what he is doing unlike the new guy last year who turned off all my services instead of putting them on hold.

What is up with these outages? This is what happens when big companies refuse to upgrade their stuff. No competitors. Why would they? We need a company that can provide new cabling system for our internet so that these big companies can stop ripping us off with high prices for their outdated system. Someone end this madness.

Cox in FWB has a reputation for random TV blackouts, slower than advertised internet speeds, and terrible customer service. They offer customers "fixed price" two-year contracts that both 1) jump prices after the first year and 2) increment a few dollars a month during the first and second years.

A few weeks ago I walked in to ask why my bill jumped about $30. They said I already knew this would happen, accused me of lying about not knowing this would happen, and threatened to play back audio recordings of me when I set up the service over the phone. I am sure they did tell me about this increase and that I simply forgot. While this is annoying, I'll get that cable companies are terrible and this is somewhat standard for all cable companies these days. But I do not appreciate being called a liar or the aggression and hostility of the sales people in the Cox store in the Fort Walton Beach store.

Marcus; if you have him for a rep you're in great hands. Always patient, answers all questions and happily works with you to make sure you're getting what you want. The other reps may be every but as good as Marcus, i just haven't had assistance from them yet.

Ive been with cox a long time and all was good, till a cox salesman Mike came along and offered me 30 day free, no hassle trial of their new set up with written contract for the trial period. I tried it for 18 days and took my equipment to the cox solution store to be told sorry we wont honor the contract, which they did honor for my friend who is my neighbor. Well then shortly after they sent me a bill for $284.00 funny i just have internet. So will not deal with COX ANYMORE Lesson Learned!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible company. They lie and over charge because they know they are the only internet company available to many in the Fort Walton Beach area. We were charged for installations that never even happened. 677 dollars! After going to the store and waiting two hours for them to fix it, which they claimed to have done, it still, two weeks later ,says we owe that amount. I haven't met one person here that hasn't been over charged with bogus charges. We ended getting a lawyer and he's preparing the best way to move forward. Everyone reading this should know that it's very simple and far less expensive than one knows to get a lawyer. NEVER ever just sit back and be taken advantage of by anyone. My advice to any and everyone. Stay away from Cox. Go instead with Direct TV. Do NOT listen to the liars at Cox about being better or faster. They are not. They are however, very good at selling. Oh! I should also mention that our reg bill is 250 a month, even though we were quoted not once, but 3 times 200. Which in itself is insane. They claim the extra 50 are all the extra taxes. They are not worth the stress. I miss Direct TV that we had before moving to this neighborhood that doesn't offer it!. Not one time did we deal with being cheated. You will not meet one person that hasn't NOT been cheated by Charter. I promise.
