  On November 23rd, I was searching online for a nice hotel to take my daughter to cause she wanted to go swimming for her 14th birthday. I ran across lots of hotels but after reading a few reviews, I decided to go with the Courtyard by Marriott in Hammond, Indiana. I placed my reservation for Nov. 24th. On the 24th, I checked in around 5:30 pm almost 6 and after receiving the key, we went to the room and changed immediately into swimming gear. As we were changing, we saw a few ants crawling but I didnt really think nothing of it. We went to the pool and stayed intil anout 9 then went back to the room which was 103 to unwind, shower, and relax. As we were winding down, I started to see a few more ants than I seen when I first arrived. They were crawling all over the floor under the desk.
  I called to inform the front desk of the problem and all they can say was they will get the problem addressed. I cut the light off and proceeded to fall asleep only to be awaken by something crawling up my arms and legs. I jump up and cut the light on and ANTS ARE EVERYWHERE. ALL OVER THE WALLS THE HEADBOARD, THE COVERS, I MEAN EVERYWHERE!!! I DECIDED THAT WAS IT, I CANT DO THIS. I CALLED BACK DOWN TO THE FRONT DESK AGAIN ONLY TO BE APOLOGIZED TO FOR THE PROBLEM IN WHICH THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY ALREADY KNEW ABOUT BUT DID NOTHING ABOUT AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO INFORM MAINTENANCE BUT THEY WERE NOT ON DUTY AT THE TIME. I GRABBED ALL MY BELONGINGS AND MY CHILDREN AND GOT UP OUT OF THERE. I TURNED IN MY KEYS AND CAME HOME. I WAS ONLY THERE FOR A FEW HOURS AND I AM HIGHLY UPSET. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO TALK TO MANAGEMENT ON MONDAY MORNING TO GET MY REFUND. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO MY WORSE ENEMY. I'M PISSED NOT ONLY BECAUSE IT RUINED MY RELAXATION TIME, BUT IT ALSO RUINED MY DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY PLANS. I WILL BE CONTACTING SOMEONE FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING. AND ANOTHER CRAZY PART ABOUT THIS WHOLE SITUATION, I JUST RAN ACROSS SOME REVIEWS FROM OTHER PEOLE AND ONE PERSON WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT ANTS 5 MONTHS AGO AND IT IS STILL AND ONGOING THING. THIS IS SAD AND DISGUSTING!!!

  I had a wonderful stay for nine nights. This place is a great secret. Great people. I have been to a lot of hotels and I have to say this is my favorite. They are there to help 24 hours.

  Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean and check in was a breeze. Beds were super comfortable. Would definitely return again.

  Great location and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the room wasn't what i expected from a Courtyard. The carpet had multiple stains on it and the door to the closet was missing. It just seemed that the room should have been out of service until the room could be brought up to the standards one would expect of a Courtyard Marriott.

  Friendly staff and updated atmosphere. Unique room set-up that made the room feel less like a standard hotel room. Local police are present as security, so feels safer than the typical hotel.

  Great location near Munster (for Dark Lord Day). Solid carry out food options near by. Chic decore with a mini Starbucks inside. Great customer service.

  This is a beautiful hotel. Beautiful water views, patio, sofa sleeper in the suite, comfortable beds, and on top of that a friendly staff that meet you with the smile, and even bring you up at toothpaste and toothbrush when you need one. An indoor swimming pool, bistro, and Starbucks are a few amenities in this beautiful modern decorated hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the area.

  The Courtyard is right by the highway. Finding is easy and I thought there was plenty of parking. There were some smalls and large conference rooms, all of which were very nice. The chairs in the small conference rooms were especially comfortable. The lobby had plenty of seating and there was a nice atmosphere. Overall I had a pleasant experience.

  Julie, the woman who was at the reception desk when we arrived, went out of her way to insure we had the type of room we wanted and, without asking, gave us a bereavement discount because we came to the area to attend a funeral. The hotel is comfortable and clean and its location is convenient. We will choose to stay there whenever we are in northwest Indiana.

  Really enjoyed our visit from the moment we arrived. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. Room was very nice and clean. The only thing I would change is to have a larger coffee maker. My wife and I drink a lot of coffee and the coffee maker is a single cup coffee maker. They do have a Starbucks inside the hotel, but we didn't want to get out of the room to get the coffee there. You need to pay for the coffee at the Starbucks also. Lots of good restraunts around the area also.
