Description

Courage Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization focused on helping individuals and veterans with physical disabilities take outdoor adventures.

At Courage Incorporated, our goal is simple: We provide individuals and veterans with physical disabilities with the opportunity to harness their natural courage and enjoy the wilderness with fishing, camping, hiking, and canoeing. The only cost is the courage to try something they thought was impossible.

Courage Incorporated was founded by Nathan Denofre in the summer of 2015. Denofre was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome, which left him without legs below the knee. After years of wear and tear on his body and multiple surgeries, he was left with degenerative spine narrowing in his back, which will eventually leave him with limited mobility.
In December 2014, former classmates Erik Conradson and Jamie Maki found out about his condition, and they began a fundraising effort to help Denofre pull off one last great outdoor excursion before he lost mobility – or “Nate’s Last Stand,” as it was referred to.
In six months time, over $4,200 had been raised in honor of Denofre – so he decided to pay it forward. Denofre founded Courage Incorporated to aid others with disabilities and help them see what they are capable of. With the help of Justin Marietti, Courage Incorporated now has an official logo (designed by Selena Hautamaki) and is on its way to doing great things.

Those of us that know Nate Denofre know one thing for sure... he is not handicapped. He is a hard working man who wears his dirt and scars well. He is proud. He understands the difference between what it means to be alive and what it means to live your life.

Admittedly, Nate has faced challenges that could have broken him. He will let you know that his life has not been easy, but also knows that life is equally unfair and cruel to all of us. Tough shit, quit complaining, get over it. That's Nate's philosophy.

Nate has made it known that he is slowly losing his mobility. 30+ years of life with and without prosthetics, as well as the refusal to take it easy, has worn his body down. Eventually, he will need a wheelchair and won't be able to brush a path through the great Northwoods. Yet he doesn't complain. Instead, he has a plan. He plans to use those legs as much as he can, while he is still able.

He has dedicated his life to the outdoors. Hiking, canoeing, hunting, fishing, exploring... he does everything and anything he can to enjoy the freedom Mother Nature grants him. Now, he wants to assist physically challenged individuals, kids, veterans, and wounded war veterans in their pursuit to enjoy the outdoors. That is why Nate has created a non-profit organization called Courage Incorporated.

Looks like we got a few of you!!

One thing that is not a joke is that we are working hard to make a UTV a reality for our group and we appreciate each and every one of YOU...our supporters.

We're soooo thankful!! We originally set out to raise enough money for a UTV to assist with our gear hauling. We have been MORE than blessed by donations from far and wide!

With the generous support of the community we are so proud to let everyone know that we are welcoming a new member to the Courage fleet... Say hello to the Courage Crawler!! We take delivery of this beast just prior to our first excursion!

Good morning everyone! Some good info below - read up!

We just sent out a bunch of "invites" to LIKE/Follow our page. If you got one, rest assured it was us and not just some spam. If you didn't get the invite, hopefully it means you have already LIKED our page. We currently have just under 1400 Likes/Followers! Thanks for sticking with us.

Why do we ask for LIKES? Many people assume it is tied to some cash generator where the more likes we have, the more money Facebook... gives us.... but that is incorrect. (Sort of)

Ultimately, the more people that LIKE our page means that it will get seen by more people. The more people that see it means that more likely we are to be successful on a few fronts... gaining supporters, recruiting clients and volunteers, and fundraising. We try to keep our posts relevant to our mission of helping individuals and veterans with physical disabilities. For an organization like ours, that is 100% non-profit and 100% volunteer, we need to reach as many people as we can organically. Social media is a perfect way for us to do that.

We ask you to LIKE our page so that we can keep you in the loop with what is going on with our group. We like sharing pictures and videos of our adventures, and we love to say thank you to all of our supporters! You'll see our posts in your newsfeed and hopefully you will find them interesting. A lot of times we will ask you to SHARE our posts to help spread the message. LIKES are a great tool for us to keep our organization moving forward and doing great things.

For today, we ask this: If you haven't already, please LIKE/Follow our page. If you already have, then please tell somebody about us and ask them to LIKE our page.

We hope this info was useful.

    Thanks for the support!

    Have you heard...?

We are in the market for a side by side utility vehicle, similar to a Kawasaki Mule or a John Deere Gator. It will be used for hauling loads of camping and other recreational gear into (and out of) remote sites where we set our clients up. We will also be using it to transport some of our clients as well

    ...

4x4 is a must A utility bed is a must - bonus points for dump bed Would prefer an enclosed cab

We operate on a very small budget, so we're looking for a used UTV that is not only reliable and well cared for, but hopefully something we can get a break on pricing.

If there are any dealerships seeing this that are willing to work with us on a new machine, we'd love to hear from you.

Of course, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that we're hosting a fundraiser right on our Facebook page Courage Incorporated where you can donate directly to this cause.

This is a fantastic review and the reason it carries so much weight is because Michelle isn't just a one-time volunteer; she's a repeat volunteer! We're proud to know her and we are proud OF her!

See you this summer MM Colon Fret....again!!!
