Really good food and atmosphere in a laid back tone. Was worried by the looks and location of the place that it would be a little stuffy but I was wrong. This place does a great balance of getting comfort and exotic to work. There was a great mix cheap drinks and bar food as well as interesting entrees and desserts.
Everything tasted good and nothing was too overdone in styling or taste. This is the kinda place you can go back to again and again because they know what the people like and how to deliver it. Staff was warm and welcoming and gave great advice on dishes and drinks. Highly recommend.
Good food. Good fried. Friendly staff. Beware of the mosquitoes. Staff has bug spray though! :) However my only complaint is the food quality did not live up to the price
We just had brunch at Contigo and thoroughly enjoyed the food, but our server, Scott, was inattentive and disappeared for long stretches at a time. Luckily other servers delivered our food, or we might never have eaten. We had to ask someone walking by if we could order another round of drinks, and spent twenty minutes looking for him so that we could pay the bill. It seemed like the rest of the staff was great, but our experience was seriously hindered by the service.
As I said, the food was delicious. The Scrapple was the best plate at the table, but the biscuits and gravy were exactly what you hope for in the southern classic. We also tried the monkey bread and pumpkin bread, both of which were excellent.
Definitely try this place for brunch, but make sure you get another server.
Fresh concept for foodies in Austin. I am a bit biased because my experience included a great conversation about full pig roasting with the owner, who was tending an open out today for an upcoming event. He clearly has a genuine love for what he does. Great experience.
Great food, great drinks, neat outdoor dining and drinking vibe. Sometimes you get a good waiter or waitress, mine just happened to be involved in other things. Other than that I enjoyed my experience there.
One of the few full service restaurants in neighborhood. All outside, so not terribly pleasant in summer unless you enjoy being even more damp from misters. Food and drinks all just ok. Service is always nice and efficient though.
Our daughter had a private wedding at Contigo Friday August 11,2017. The staff's performance was perfect in all aspects. The food was amazing from appetizers to their five course dinner. And I can't forget the bar staff and the crafted cocktails they served. A wonderful evening thank you from the bottom of our heart.
Heard the burgers were good so three of us checked it out. Very rustic decor and a very limited menu. We ordered the crispy green beans which were delicious. We all ordered burgers. I ordered mine medium but it was way overcooked. I was also surprised at the small size of the patty. Definitely not worth $14 which is $3 more than the same burger at lunch time. I like the vibe of the place but not the place to go for a burger.
Don't let bad weather scare you off! Even though it's all open, these people know how to handle the elements! One of the best places in ATX in several categories: Old Fashioneds, fried chicken (available by the drumstick Thursdays) and brunch (the tongue hash is TO DIE FOR)
Outdoor gastropub with great food and beer selection. Dog friendly and great for families with kids. The roast chicken was tender, juicy, and delicious. The burgers are great, too. Definitely a favorite spot.
Food was just OK. I think the whole outdoor food vibe shades views. The atmosphere is a solid 4, the food is a 2. Also, the banana pudding is NOT banana pudding. It was all left in the bowl.
The service was mediocre at best and the food wasn't worth the price. I really tried to be sociable and nice to the waitress and she could not be bothered. I had made the reservation via OpenTable which afforded us a rather quick seating, but on the special request on the reservation I said we were there to celebrate a birthday and no one even acknowledge it. On top of everything the portions were tiny for the price. The ice cream desert with a snickerdoodal was $9. We got two half scoops of ice cream and a large cookie that tasted like a sugar cookie and who makes "banana pudding" out of marshmallow fluff? The banana pudding was the biggest disappointment. I will say the best part of the whole meal was the rabbit and dumplings and even in that I found small bones while I was eating. I don't think anything I had there was worth the price. If you are just looking for a few drinks at least those were good, but everything else I wouldn't bother.
Came here for Sunday brunch. Overall, I'd say it's pricey for what you get, with fairly unremarkable food. It's all-outdoor ambiance can be either an up or downside depending on the weather and your preferences.
Bacon & Egg Salad ($12): This completely fell flat. The whole is literally the sum of the parts - and the parts aren't that impressive. It's a smallish pile of arugula, with a runny egg on top and a (very) few bits of bacon, certainly less than a single strip. Add some grated bits of cheese, and that's it. It mostly just tastes like arugula, there is no cohesion of flavors whatsoever.
Beef Tongue Hash ($14): This one was much better. Egg, beef and potatoes with hollandaise sauce. Good, though not amazing. Not $14 good.
