I have the knowledge and experience to assist you in achieving these and other goals with your dog:
• Making the transition to becoming your family dog – I have 15 years of experience as well as formal training in working with dogs. I have volunteered at several shelters and have adopted and/or foster-parented more than twenty shelter dogs…so far.
• Prevention of behavior problems - I can help you teach your dog proper housebreaking methods, as well as how to curtail chewing and prevent unruly behavior in your home.
• Learning to listen - My program will teach you how to communicate effectively and humanely with your pet. Teaching your dog basic cues is of critical importance, particularly when it's done in a humane, positive fashion.
• Solving behavior problems. - While an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, many clients’ dogs already have existing behavior challenges. I will assist with reasonable effective solutions to common behavior problems. Learn how to deal with nipping, jumping, chewing, digging, barking, leash pulling, unruly behavior, boundary training and more without having to resort to the use of intimidation to establish control.
Private training, in your home, is more effective because:
- It’s a familiar environment—learning takes place where your dog spends most of its time.
- There are less distraction and stress—you and your dog can focus on learning.
- The appointment schedule is flexible. Rescheduling can be done with 24 hours notice if life events intervene.
- You save the time and expense of travel.
- All family members can participate in the training and learn how to handle and communicate with your dog.
