I love that this close-knit community is now lead by a woman! Pastor Sarah does a great job of listening to the needs of her congregation, teaching about the life of Jesus and reminding the group about life and issues beyond little North Canton. A new visitor would find this church very welcoming for all ages. I have enjoyed visiting the lovely sanctuary with my mother, grandfather and younger brother from time to time, and can see a great deal of potential for this group to be a source of light and hope in today's world! One point of constructive criticism - I'd love to hear a little more modern worship music from time to time. Perhaps some acoustic guitar? 💓💓
I am so thankful for Community Christian Church. Sarah , our minister is a very loving, kind and compassion person. I consider all of them my church family. When I am there I feel the Spirit of the Lord a
among us. If you are looking for a church, come and see the love of God within his congregation. You will have a peace that is awesome.
Community Christian is a church of welcome for all people, regardless of where they may be on their faith journey. It is a small church characterized by compassion and care, service to humanity and Christ's love of all people. It's not mega-church but instead offers a genuine, reflective and uplifting worship experience. Personally I find it a welcome break from our noisy world. Pastor Sarah sticks to Biblical teachings and yet interprets them for everyday life. The music is classic, familiar and inspirational. Communion is served every Sunday and all are welcome at the table. I am thankful to be able to worship at this little gem of church right on Main Street in a community grounded in faith & family values.
If you are looking for a church where "WWJD" means love and acceptance, then visit this church. Beautiful hearts in a beautiful building with beautiful music. A very welcoming church family. And all are welcome. Even if you are uncertain about your faith, come meet these people. The love and support I received during a recent medical crisis was life transforming. This is a small church with an impressive music program for it's size. My family visited every Sunday for five years before we actually joined - we never felt any pressure.
My husband and I have been members of Community Christian Church for over 25 years. I love this church! I am proud that we welcome people of all walks of life to worship with us. Our minister is compassionate and dedicated to everyone. The strong lay ministry is an asset. The music program is outstanding. The youth programs are of the highest quality. I invite everyone to come and worship with us.
My husband and I came to Community Christian Church from another community in 2000. The centnral location and beauty of the building attracted us to visit, and the friendly congregation, rich program, and high quality worship kept us coming back.
Both my wife and I grew up going to church but had drifted away. I was a Catholic and she was a Presbyterian. In 1998 we had our first child and felt compelled to find a church we could both call home. Community Christian was a fit. My wife liked that it had a service very similar to her Presbyterian church. I liked that it focused on and served communion at every service.
Community Christian was founded in the 1870s and started in part by WH “Boss” Hoover, the founder of The Hoover Company. It is a Christian Church or Disciples of Christ, one of the largest Christian denominations founded on American soil.
The music is incredibly rich. They have a chancel choir and bell choir that get accompanied by organ, piano, and violin. The sound in the sanctuary is beautiful. It's mostly a mix of traditional hymns with wonderful contemporary surprises thrown in along the way.
Yes, there are good ministries and programs for all age groups, and the pastor gives solid sermons that are engaging and relevant, but the reason we stayed is because we fell in love with the people at the church. From the moment we started going we felt welcomed, appreciated, and loved. It has become our home.
