So much room. Such amazing lighting. Helpful people. SOOO much mixed media and art and and and. There's a tiny coffee shop inside. I loved this place pre-renovations and I love it even more after. The parking garage is my least favorite part about it but now I just hop the bus down there and avoid that part all together!

Columbus' library system is one of the best in the country and so is its main library. The interior was completely remodeled recently and brought the library into the 21st century. There is a lot of open space, so much so it seems that there aren't many books, but that's not the case. I mostly use the genealogy and history section of the library and it has been upgraded significantly. Gone are the old projection microfilm machines, replaced with computer-based screens. This allows you to clip and email yourself articles of interest instead of sending it to a printer, all for free. I would like to see times on the machines automatically extended if it isn't busy. An hour sometimes isn't enough time to fulfill all of my research.

The whole Columbus Public LIbrary System is fantastic. The main library downtown is one of the cities gems. I love that they made it so much more user-friendly. The public art they display is a wonderful break if you're stretching your legs after long study or reading. And now that it's connected to Topiary Park, it's even better.

I was a fan before the remodel, and am even more of a fan now. One of the best atmospheres to work or study. Beautiful building, large selection, open concept, friendly staff. I love the model train set-up during Christmastime. A+ in my book!

This is one of the most beautiful library that I have ever visited. It has a wide selection of books and vast network of other libraries full of other books. The study rooms are nice and quiet. There is security on staff to keep the peace in case anyone causes trouble. The library is also seated next door to a private school, and the children tend to visit the library to hang out with friends and study. They wear uniforms and are very professional students. Only downside to this library is that they do charge you for parking if you plan on staying for awhile.

My review applies to library services in general and the Whetstone branch, in particular, not the Main library location. My branch is great. It's convenient with plenty of handicapped parking. It's clean, has lots of computers and very nice staff to help with anything needed.
My only complaint is that the online patron services software is less user friendly with each change, which occur more frequently than necessary, offering very little improvement, imo. I love ordering books and music online. It increases my selections and the items requested are ready for me when I get there. I can't browse at the branch, as I used to to, due to mobility issues. I realize that my complaint may sound old fogey-ish and it may be just that. Unfortunately, I don't have a five-year-old on hand to coach me on how to use new software.

I came here during the comic festival. My first impression when walking in: wow, this place is super open and clean. All of the workers are so friendly and willing to help.
There are tons of books and I noticed that the wifi signal is very strong. I'm definitely going to come back with my laptop to get some work done.response / report this review -

It's the main branch, so it's the biggest and the best. Fairly consistent, strong WiFi signal; quiet atmosphere; nice amenities. Gorgeous inside and out. Parking is fairly easy in the attached garage, and cheap First hour is free! Take a walk to enjoy the nearby topiary gardens.

I have gone to a number of libraries around the area and this location far exceeds them all.
The staff are wonderful and extremely helpful, especially in the local history area. Everyone wants to help. They have a lot of good resources. I love doing my research and work here. It is a bit cold so bring a sweater or jacket but the parking is easy, although not cheap, and the library is maintained exceptionally well---clean areas, wiped down tables, nicely shelved and organized materials, clean bathrooms, nicely maintained garage etc.
I hope they are reaching out to local organizations, cultural centers, and businesses in order capture those records. As I look at materials from the past many are incomplete because folks did not have enough foresight to maintain certain records. I hope some library staff are looking to ensure this does not happen with current history being made from all sections of the Columbus community.
I have been looking for a place to get my work done and some local research completed for some time and this is the best place to get it done!response / report this review -

Best Library System in the Country. Period. Game. Set. Match. You need it - they've got it. Love that my boys can safely walk to such a great place and enjoy it so much!

Great Wifi connection. Good computers. Good place to have a meeting. The book selection leaves a little to be desired as most of the good books are at the small branch libraries.
