It's a good park as far as parks go. They have grill grates, which are usually available and great if you don't have one at home. Great place for people of all ages.

Playground equipment, a gazebo, lots of benches. Large grassy areas to lay on a blanket and read or play catch with a Frisbee. Usually pretty quiet.

Little history lesson for you: This is where Occupy Iowa City happened, and many people set up tents and spent part of the winter here, before the city authorities finally, reluctantly, cleared them out.

I always liked this part, it's been a popular place for local events, like cookouts, and events where people set up stalls here and sell things. I don't actually know who organizes the events, just that I come by here and they're happening pretty often.

It's on the side of a pretty steep hill, and there are stairs at one corner, but it's pretty wheelchair accessable. There's not much exciting about it as a park: It's got playground equipment, an open space, a gazebo, a basketball court, the usual. The trees are very nice in fall, and some of the bushes bloom.

The location is very good, right near a parking lot.

My one complaint, is it's pretty, well small.

Great park. Woodchip playground with elderly buy serviceable playground equipment. Several grills and lots of relatively open area for games like capture the flag or ultimate Frisbee. Central gazebo is a popular place for wedding photos

College green park is a block of park close to downtown and frequented by university students. I'm rating parks based on their kid appeal and this is not a favorite. It's close to a busy street, the swings are too high off the ground, and the play equipment is just ok. The play structure is accessible to a variety of ages. I would say 18 months+ with supervision for most of it. This park works if you're already downtown and your kid loves to climb steps or you live in the area, but on street parking is an issue for the rest of us making this park a difficult destination. If, however, you have kids that love monkey bars this park may be worth the trip.

    Special features:
    1/2 Basketball court

    Play equipment:
    Slides: 1 wavy, 1 double
    Swings: 2 regular, 1 tire
Climbers: 1 spiral, 1 curved ladder
Extras: bridge, teeter totter, monkey bars, chain monkey bars, zip fly, telephone

    Amenities:
    Parking: street
    On-site water: yes
    On-site bathroom: no
