One in every five people living with HIV in the United States is unaware. South Carolina ranks first in the nation in heterosexual transmission, and ranked 8th in the nation for new HIV infections. Charleston has one of the fastest-growing HIV infection rates in the state, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
