Good programs and distinguished faculty members

The faculty are amazing and CGU is an awesome.
The school is great and faculty are amazing.
In my department, the professors are nice, but there is no career preparation. I don't know a single person in my department who got a tenure track professor job after graduating, and no one ever talked to us about it in classes. It's not worth paying $50-100K for a Ph.D. if you aren't going to be prepared to get a better job because of it. I hate to say that, but in this economy, it's true. Most of my classmates say they don't think they ever be out of debt the program cost too much, and we are paid too little as adjunct professors, and none of us so far have gotten tenure, despite years of trying.
The setting (Claremont, CA) is nice and the teachers are kind, but unless you are independently wealthy, you probably can't afford (like me) to pay so much for a program where there is no mentorship or career preparation. For as much money as we pay, they could afford to give us more practical advice, but they don't. This does not seem to be the case in other departments (like Education and Business), but please, avoid the Humanities department. I will be paying off this mistake for a long, long time. :(
