Entry fee at this moment 13$ for an adult and 5$ for children, two parking places on the way with clean restrooms, however elevator is out of order but you get this information everywher (website, cashier). Very nice place to visit with wonderful views on this part of states, paths are easy and accesible for everyone also well marked. Main attraction and also connection paths has a lot of steps. Sometimes it's getting crowded. Place friendly for animals but not all the people clean after their pet.

Where to start....first off, this place needs to have a better food selection for children. Most kids don't eat tamales, stop catering to the overwhelming numbers of mexicans that have now over taken the park and offer pizza, fries, burgers, hand dipped ice cream. And have better toys in the gift shop, most kids don't care about back scratchers, magnets and t-shirts (that's about 75% of the gifts). How about actual toys???? The park itself is beautiful and we had a great time regardless.

This is one of the most beautiful places you can see anywhere in the country! The views are out of this world gorgeous, almost something out of a dream! The hiking trails are exhilarating and fun! And wow the waterfall is really a sight to see! Also it's amazing how far you can see when you're on top of the Rock, it's a really magical feeling up there! And the town below is really really cool! 🌲🇺🇲😎

It was a warmer day, since we've been stuck in the house we decided to see what Chimney Rock was like. The elevator was out, which is fine, we wanted to take the stairs anyway! It worked out to be a little cheaper for the wallet if the elevator is out, so that was a nice surprise. There are different pathways you can take that lead up to the top, it was nice to go through the 'cave' or 'subway' area, I felt like a kid. Can't wait to go back and explore all the trails. A few were closed just because of the ice we had last week. I recommend this especially to parents who want their kid to take a nap!

Awesome place to visit and walk around. The wooden structure was an amazing work of art. So much work went into it, it was very well built and really nice to walk up. Chimney Rock itself is an amazing vantage point. While I was up there to visit, a C-130 flew right by us, and actually slightly lower than us, so we could look down on top of it. It was a pretty incredible experience. The cap rock itself is impressive and slightly scary. I'm sure sometime in the next several thousand years, that rock is eventually gonna slide right off and come crashing down, wreaking havoc all the way to the bottom of the mountain, but until then, nice view from the top!

The elevator was broken this day so we got a discount on admission. However it was foggy as well and we couldn't see any views after climbing all the stairs. In hindsight sight, we should have taken the longer walk to the waterfall. A more informative staff might have been helpful.

Great place, had a fun time, beginning was a little rough for us older generation but well worth it, loved the hike to the top of the waterfall, hope they make it further out so can see the water go over the top. I really want to go back soon and start with the trail to the bottom of the waterfall this time. Ran out of time before. Elevator was not working so the restaurant was closed but the snack bar was open. I asked the park rangers if they had the oxygen , you know just in case the kids needed it. Lol

Beautiful views on a clear day. You can see almost 50 miles from the top of the "chimney". Wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes because you will climb 315 feet to the top. The hike to the waterfall is a 400 foot vertical climb. Clean facilities and ample parking.

I loved park it was beautiful kind of pricey for a state park but was well worth it be prepared to hike all the way up to the exclamation point if you can. Definitely be prepared to spend hours here. My boys 5 and 7 hiked it all the way up 4-5 hours I believe it took us if you think about each trail took about 45 mins to an hr. The elevator happen to be under construction.

As of June 2017, the elevator is being replaced, so access to Chimney Rock itself requires a lot of stairs. If you're up for it, admire Chimney Rock from the parking lot and then take the walk out to Hickory Nut Falls. The falls themselves are breathtaking but the trail out is full of lovely sights, too.

This had always been a memorable trip and one I have made several times since I was a little girl . It is beautiful but caution to those with health issues, it is taxing on the body if the elevator to the top is out! Be prepared with good shoes and water in the warmer months , if you are adventurous there is plenty to get into and the views are amazing.

It offers a great opportunity to take in the natural beauty of North Carolina. I and a friend of mine, Phil, went there and enjoyed the view. The price was great and fair. The people were very nice. The visit almost got cancelled by a thunderstorm; but fortunately, the storm passed by quickly and we were able to go to the summit. I went all the way to Exclamation Point. What a view! I got a lot of great pictures and great memories!!! I highly recommend that anyone who has thought about going to go there!

If you want some amazing views to remember for a lifetime this is a good bet! The climb we took was a little challenging, but easy enough that a family with children could manage. There was a variety of trails to take and explore. The front gate was helpful and very friendly and there were rest areas made available on the way up the mountain that were clean. There was also a nice gift shop next to Chimney Rock. Wish we could have spent longer than the couple of hours we had here!

Great place to hike with dogs! Chimney Rock State Park was very dog friendly, I'm glad we came. Well behaved leashed dogs are allowed everywhere in the park except the elevator and inside buildings where food is served (state health regulations). Most of the park has reopened after the wildfires in 2016. You can walk the trail to the top but they also have other trails in the park. The view was amazing. They had a water station set up about halfway up the trail to the chimney top to make sure dogs have water on the hike. Park admission is free on your birthday (with valid photo ID), otherwise it was $15 when we went.
