It's gems like these are why the girlfriend and I are always trying new places...
I have no words for their salmon crepe dish... just no words... also the coffee was delicious (which was the only reason we came at first.)
The Paris theme is present, but not overwhelming, (think 54th street where they have the walls covered in decorations. So it's not that.)
The lady who took our order said the line can be out the door, so keep that in mind. If you're coming for the first time (like we did) come at an off peak time. You'll have pretty quick service.
Places like these are the gems you search for looking for new places to try, they also make it really hard to keep to want to keep trying new things... As my lady said, "this good was an experience..."
Definitely recommend trying.
A friend suggested trying this cafe on an out-of-town trip while visiting family. I'm a fairly accomplished cook myself and make good crepes. Found no fault in the menu, ingredients or dishes. Customer service was exceptional! The decor and music selections were pleasant. Hope to visit again.
Loved the ambiance. Seriously cute place. The two dessert crepes we tried were both delicious. My favorite was the lemon curd. They are pricey, but worth it. They have board games and it's a cozy atmosphere where you can sit and stay awhile.
Best creperie in town! The crepes are all good with a variety of sweet and savory choices available. French wine and espresso for the adults and hot chocolate for the kids. Board games are at hand in the room off to the left when you come in. Ordering at he counter is not my favorite way to dine, but the staff is friendly and efficient. Marvelous former theater space on the west side in Kansas city.. close to downtown and the crossroads areas.
Pricey but delicious crepes! Really cute space, love how it was converted!! Service was prompt and latte was delicious. Tried savory and sweet and everything was well made with quality ingredients. Great little spot!
Wonderful lunch spot! Everything is delicious and there is plenty of seating. It is one of my favorite KC places to read and get work done.
Best crepes in Kansas City, and with the biggest selection I've seen. They have crepes for every time of day and all of them are delicious. Very trendy place that I would highly recommend.
Love their food! Every time I go I am never disappointed! Great staff that work quickly. The cooks get the food out in a timely manner! I enjoy going here!
We are from out of town and was recommended here by the owners of the air bnb we were staying at. It did not disappoint. We had one savory (Tour Eiffel) and one sweet (Citron), and both were excellent. Our air bnb host described these crepes as "face melting" and they lived up to the hype. The service was quick and friendly as well.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Thank God there were no unruly children picking flowers, or incompetent parents allowing their children to hang all over the railing. Everyone here appears to know how to act in public, and takes responsibility for raising their children properly. Don't let some irresponsible inconsiderate ignorant woman scare you away from a great place.
Today was my first visit to Chez Elle. The crepes were delicious but the customer service could have been better. The worker who took my order, of 2 crepes (1 savory, 1 sweet), at the counter put it in wrong. When my order came out I was given 2 sweet crepes, the one I had ordered and another one that I hadn't, and no savory crepe. I talked to another worker who simply went and found the ticket with my order on it and said that I had ordered what I got but didn't offer to correct it to what I actually ordered. The mishap could've easily been avoided had the worker at the counter repeated my order to me to make sure it was right but she seemed too distracted by her phone to say anything else to me other than my total. I thoroughly enjoyed the crepe that I had ordered, but left a little disappointed because of the mishap. I look forward to visiting again, and I'm hopeful that my next experience at Chez Elle will be better than my first.
Owner is not kid friendly. While having breakfast with my family, my daughters were innocently looking at the flowers, that apparently are way more expensive than the four meals we just paid for, and drinks we had, and they picked two of them, as any kid would. This apparently was unacceptable behavior for a 2 and 5 year old. So unacceptable in fact that the owner felt the need to come tell us that she "would prefer if they didn't pick the flowers, I put a lot into them, I am owner ". That would be no problem if my child wasn't startled by her and lost her grip on the handle bar and causing her to fall over into the railing. Not only did this cheap-flower-loving "owner" cause her to fall, she continued to tell us about her precious two dollar flowers after she saw my daughter fall and hit her head extremely hard, didn't help her up, didn't ask if she was ok, but continued to tell us about her hard work she put in her dollar store flowers. Thanks for the great experience. Your hard work has apparently not paid off since you can't afford decent flowers. Good day, I said good day.
Pictured are the vegan crepes, which were decent but not mad decent. I appreciate that they have vegan crepes, though I wish they were easier to order. Like, if they had a couple of vegan choices on the menu rather than a side note indicating vegan batter was available.
Really cozy place to eat, especially on the Sunday morning. They have some nice outdoor seating and a large indoor area too. There is a shelf of board games to entertain yourself while you wait.
The crepes were good. The Monsieur was a lot of food and was very filling. The Glace was a sweet, straightforward crepe. It was "some assembly required", not put together like the Monsieur.
Overall, the food was tasty and seemed like a popular place and it was a good experience.
We visit here every few months. The Lobster Bisque is wonderful. I usually get a sweet crepe, while DH gets a savory crepe. We have yet to be disappointed.
Friendly staff, dependable quality, great ambience, reasonable prices. A great place for a breakfast/lunch date, or to take an out-of-tower.
Whatever the wait may be, it was worth it. The food here is exceptional. Anything on the menu you order will be great. My personal favorite is the #15 Citron.
Food was great and so was the experience. went in for lunch and the neighborhood lost power. the staff did everything they could to make sure everyone was comfortable and enjoyed their meals.
Excellent ambiance! Upon approach you're sure to get in the mood of being in the heart of Paris. For me personally, the food was horrible and bland. It had absolutely no taste. I'm a really huge egg lover and my eggs were just so tasteless. It's so very hard to go wrong with eggs. Another thing that annoyed me (besides having to stand in the long line to order as if you're at a truck stop) was when I seen her get a gallon of Roberts orange juice to poor me a glass. Here I am paying $2+ for a small french glass of orange juice and she pulls out a $3+ gallon of Roberts. Oh'boy! Also, the owners and staff appear to all be Hispanic, which is fine. It's just... well it's a french themed restaurant. I just think it's something strange about it is all.
