  Nice painting supply store for artists. They have a much larger selection in their catalog but there is something to be said for instant gratification.
  
  They have a very good collection of brushes, canvases, oil and latex/acrylic paints. They also sell watercolor paints, gel and other pens, drafting supplies and craft supplies. They also have paint and art supplies for children.
  
  There is a small public gallery of beautiful watercolors by Joe himself. Some of them are available for sale.
  
  They have a public restroom.

  Excellent shop for all your art supply needs. Very easy to get lost browsing. Great staff too. Super friendly, helpful and they know that shop inside and out. My favorite place in Boone to waste a few buckaroo's.

  I have been going here for my design materials for two years. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and hospitable--I spent an hour testing out dozens of expensive markers before buying only a small handful. Then a few weeks later, when a couple markers went dry WAY too soon, they helped me exchange the faulty markers.

  I used to love shopping online at Cheap Joes but they seem to be leaning toward bait and switch tactics that have made me wary. I was shopping for a specific type of paper and a prominent ad popped up to tell me that if I bought a certain brand I would get a free paintbrush. I took the bait. When I received the paper but no brush I contacted customer service. They sent me a screen shot showing the paper I had ordered (one price) and the same paper with the 'free' brush ($13 more). I had kept a screen shot of the ad that had popped up and assumed they would honor it. Customer service looked at my screen print and told me they could understood how I had interpreted it to mean the paper came with a free brush ("we'll have to look into rewording that in future") but they still refused to send me a brush unless I paid an additional $13. Lousy customer service with a hint of shady business practice. I haven't bought from them since. Their prices and quality are sometimes excellent, but be very careful.
