I don't even want to discuss how unpleasant my experience was. The only reason they got two stars is because it wasn't literally on fire.

Quiet Sunday lunch before the art museum opens at noon. I was the only patron at 11am. Service was friendly and coffee was refilled promptly. I ordered the green salad, no meat, and the portion size was large and filling and a good deal for $7. One drawback is no alcohol served until 12pm, but I don't know if this is a restaurant policy or city ordinance.

Had lunch here recently. The grilled chicken sandwich and chips were good. The speed of service was a bit on the slow side, but the server was pleasant.

Fiance and I had a great meal for Easter lunch. It was obvious the kitchen was making a 100% effort even though we were ALONE in the dining room. We had crabcakes, oysters, beautiful salads and scrumptious pimento cheese fritters. All presented beautifully, with garnishes, painted sauces etc. We will absolutely be back, so tired of elbowing for a table at more popular places.

Being from an area that is primarily customer service sustained(Destin, FL) it is hard to rate a place like Century. I'm not hard to please and It seemed to me more of a ghost town/big city hotel with an option to eat expensive and feel like your getting a "Chef" made meal. If the main servers are always going to be the bar keeps they need to have a better customer service attitude.
Be proactive and not reactive.
Introductions, offering water, and going over any special menu items is a great door mat to the restaurant operation. My meal to me was worth half of what I paid, but I couldn't help to tip big being from where I am from.

For what used to be fine dining, the new menu is incredibly over priced and, for having been several times on my travels to Birmingham, they never seem to have a trained chef on staff. Don't waste your money. This place has suffered significantly.

To be fair, all I had was a burger and a beer. And the burger was fine.
The bartender was sweet. The sign behind the bar making it clear that you will get precisely 1.25 ounces of liquor in a drink was odd, but Well, actually that's REALLY odd.
And it is just a hotel restaurant, after all

Had room service. It was okay. Next time I will try eating in the actual restaurant, not getting it via room service. Manager is nice.
