The kids loved the characters who would visit through the building. The water park was always clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

This was our first trip to Castaway Bay and most likely our last. When we walked in the back door to greet the rest of our party it felt dingy and dirty. This hotel has not been updated since it was built. When we got to our room we found things left from the previous guests. House keeping never came to clean our room to clean it, and when we came they only cleaned 1 of the 2 rooms we had. We called them backed and the house keeper asked what needed done. I was thrown off by this as you would think they know what their job duties are when they clean a room. My 4 year old daughter found a pink toe nail clipping on the ground and no one in our party had pink toe nails. The water park was pretty well taken care of the lifeguards did a good job of keeping everyone safe. The only thing I did find disgusting was there were a pair of gloves used for cleaning randomly laying in an area where kids were playing. It was nice having a restaurant attached to hotel and could walk to it. It was also nice being super close to Cedar Point.

This hotel was incredibly deceiving on the outside. The entryway is themed out and the kids loved it. It was quite cute actually. What we didn't care for and we're quite appalled at was the disgusting room. We got a suite with bunk beds and there was definitely a blood stain on the wall. When we were planning on going to bed there was clearly a bug in the bed as well as other filth on the walls and floor. One of the worst parts was in the water park where there was a blood smear on one of the 'clean' towels that my husband almost used on his faceI will never stay at that hotel or recommend anyone to stay there. A clean room should not be a stretch to expect at a hotel. Seriously disappointed and disgusted!!!!!

Exceptionally friendly staff, particular mention for Rashid and Kelsey who made our stay very nice. One star off for the coil beds, which were not very comfortable, even though we slept really well.. Decent buffet for the price. Waterpark had a good selection of rides, the best wave pool ever ..Smaller than some of the other resorts we have been to but nicely maintained..Overall very good..

It's a 4 star resort without the effort for the 4th star. Rooms are small, outdated, and need deep cleaned. Mattresses are cheap and metal springs apparent. Outside needs cleaned, cobwebs everywhere. Inside at first glance it's cool but fake plants throughout need some work and also dusted. Small water park, but that was the nicest part of the place.

Expected a nicer establishment considering the price and hotel ownership. Most definitely not a true resort with a bar or a spa. It's a hotel with waterslides. The room size isn't terrible. But beds are terribly uncomfortable. As much money as cedar fair spends on coasters, I'd think all their hotels would be taken care of better then it is. It looks run down and outdated with some out of business Long John Silvers decor.. And they need to scrub down the water park...kinda sorry I didn't book Kalahari instead.

I took my 6 year old son here at the beginning of June. First and only water park we have been to. He absolutely loved it! The place was really nice and pretty clean. Quaker Steak and Lube was a cool restaurant to eat at; the food was mediocre. All in all, we both had a great time and can't wait to come back next summer!

The rooms were very clean and well kept. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful. My kids really enjoyed the water park but my only complaints are that half the slides where shut down and the water iis not very warm until the end of the day. It was not very crowded, so that was nice also.

Inside air temp not as advertised 82 degrees year round... Only 75 degrees (we checked) some pools inside very cool. Our 6 year old daughter kept having to stop playing to WARM UP... Some attractions not open due to staff issues. Encountered one very RUDE employee at the wave pool. Heavy black female lifeguard.. Doing her pacing routine between the chairs and wave pool, while walking backwards bumped into our daughter pushed her out of the way and didn't even say..excuse me..you're in my way.. Move.. Nothing. When I confronted her IMMEDIATELY her didn't even acknowledge me..just kept up her routine of pacing..bobbing her head..and chewing her whistle... Game room..many games took money off our card but didn't work.. Games game no tickets.. While experience was below expectations..very disappointing.

We got a day pass. It's really surprising that it's affiliated with cedar point because you wouldn't expect it to be so lame. The water was freezing. Why open during the winter months if you can't maintain a warm indoor temperature? We were freezing and so were our kids. Total rip off.

Fantastic Waterpark with lots of fun for the whole family. Was fun the whole time even after doing things multiple times. The rooms were nice and staff was accommodating and friendly. Will be coming back.

We had a day pass for the water park. For starters the park was cold. Kids lips turned blue and we shivering throughout the day. Only half the slides were available to kids due to being "short staffed". The equipment was clearly used and hasn't been maintained. Only place to get food was snack shack. We had to exit park to go to nearest restaurant. Would not recommend this park to anyone or return myself for the $ of tickets.
