Good place to camp, not a lot of facilities. Put food in the bear lockers.

Great place to stop and rest. About a mile into the McAfee's Knob hike. Picnic table and shelter with relevant hiking tidbits are posted.

To say this hike was amazing doesn't come close to actually describing it. Hiking from the TH up to McAfee Knob and then across the ridgeline to Tinker Cliffs at night, on the AT. Few things compare. I recommend everyone hit both McAfee and Tinker so you can see both sides of the valley and look at where you were just hours ago. Night time AT hiking is a totally different experience even for a day hiker. You use different degrees of your senses and you experience things you don't during the day. It's two wonderful experiences in one.

A typical A.T. shelter; a three sided cabin with one side open. No running water, no trash service, but you have a roof over your head, a picnic table and a fire pit.

Beautiful place to rest. Built well and almost part of the environment.
