Worst first experience ever. Will never use this funeral home again

I called and was told that it was after hours. I understand if there was a time frame but the website and google state 24 hours. I wouldn’t want to come here if that’s how I am talked to

Carter Funeral Home has provided great service for our family in the loss of our loving mother. They were very passionate and helpful.They felt like family to us and we will gladly recommend their services to our family and friends. May God continue to bless this business with greatness! Thank you!

Mr. Lewis, the reviewer below, created a scene by insisting on opening the casket of his decomposed family member at a graveside service, against the family's wishes, and those of the church. His family cemetery is a beautiful one hundred year old internment site situated on a branch of the North River. We remain in good standing with the rest of the family, and wish them well during their period of grief.

This was THE WORST funeral experience i have ever been through. If I could give zero stars I would. The funeral director was very rude, hasty, and the burial site was well below subpar. The director read through the obituary at the speed of light, passing over every punctuation mark there was. There was water still in the grave site. Overall, this service was a tragedy. Nothing here was done to my liking at all. This individual was brought to Virginia to be buried around family. She even served honorably in the military, and yet with this company she was treated like garbage. DO NOT UTILIZE THEIR SERVICES.

The funeral home wanted to charge me over $4000 for a casket that I found online for $1095. Actually the online casket had nicer lining and I received it the next day. Buy your casket online.
