Carmel High School is huge. That's its primary defining characteristic, and it has pros and cons.
Pro: With over 5,000 students, there is definitely a social group you will fit into.
Con: Finding that group might be difficult.
Pro: Carmel is one of the best in the state in almost every sport, and their musical groups perform just as highly.
Con: Making any team or elite group is really hard, and once you've made it it requires a huge time commitment.
Pro: The academics are great; the teachers are mostly competent and educated in the subject they teach, and almost every AP class is offered.
Con: Classes are difficult (though this isn't really a con if you're there to learn and not just pass).
Pro: Lots of ways to get involved; clubs, student government, etc.
    Con: ?

I loved Carmel High School, but it's not for everyone.

One of the greatest schools in the country. Carmel has a curriculum that thoroughly prepares students for the future.

Carmel High School is incredible. Of course, not everything is perfect, but nothing is truly perfect. There are so many inspiring teachers here and, due to its size, provides tons of opportunities. The performing arts dept. is especially impressive. This school has very high standards and is such a great place to be.

sadly this school has a drug issue but other stuff happens that is way more important then drugs these kids are pushed so much they feel emotionally dead by the end of the year. They feel this way through tough things happening in there life or them just having depression. Carmel is uneducated what to do if they feel this way and because of this a decent amount of kids do drugs not all but a good amount. Also I wright highly of thee drugs since carmel has been cracking down but maybe they should educate the kids in what they should do if they feel certain ways.

Carmel High School isn't a bad place. There is not that much bullying and everyone is mostly nice. All you ever hear though is about drugs, alcohol and sex sometimes. The school has good edcuation and great classes for everyone. A lot of fake friends though but you will always leave with most of them.

Lots and lots of drugs. People get arrested/suspended every week for drugs. Also, they refuse to build another school because of our "wonderful" academics and athletics programs. Glad I'm switching schools after this year

I noticed a lot of students talking about drugs, etc. Unfortunately, every high school has this problem. The administration does everything possible to keep drugs out of their school. Mrs. McDaniel and Mrs. Wiseman, the assistant principals are helpful and do everything they can on an INDIVIDUAL basis to help their students. The administration cares about their students. Mrs. Knoop, is an amazing counselor. For a large school, Carmel HS makes sure to hire the best administration and provide plenty of resources for their students. My daughter's teachers are wonderful and work late in to the evening to correspond with parents and give their students feedback. Don't let the size of the school fool you! This is a great school and we are fortunate to live here in Carmel.

Carmel is all about sports. That's really all you hear about. Also, there's a HUGE drug problem but it seems that the administration doesn't care. Oh well, I guess they like it when students get arrested every week. Btw, the food is trash.
