Great little old-fashioned theatre with great atmosphere & reasonable prices.
Beautiful theater with fun retro look and feel. Pillows are available in the lobby to make your screening more comfortable. Had a great time! One of the more affordable movie experiences as well
Well run theater. Interesting building; ceiling mural, funky seats, movies and more.
This theater is a historic landmark and local cultural treasure. They have a lot of hard to see foreign and alternate films. The telecast plays and operas are often degenerate foreign trash, but good luck getting a ticket; they always seem to draw a big crowd.
Artsy, cultural and a great option to the standard movie theater. They have restored the seating and kept the beautiful murals on the ceiling.
Love the new seats and glad they kept the funky atmosphere. No place like it on the Cape.
Such a charming venue instead of the generic stadium seating theaters. Always enjoy their unique films, MET and Bolshoi Ballet performances.
Love the movies shown here, not your typical local movie theater showings, and not your typical theater. Rockwell Kent and _____ (I can't remember her name) painted a magical mural on the entire ceiling which is dome shaped, and instead of theater seats there are armchairs arranged in rows. The decor in the entrance to the theater reflects it's history. They hold special events at the theater that involve a personal appearance by a movie's director, or someone featured in a film, for a question and answer period or a discussion. We are most fortunate on Cape Cod to have this gem in the area.
Very full on a rainy summer afternoon! Arrive 30 mins beforehand! A great experience, clean, good sound system, good screen, nice people. Lots of parking in a nice area. Art museum and other interesting stores in the vicinity as well. I'd love to return.
This place has such character. If there is an interesting looking movie GO!
Great theater! They often have more unusual films mixed in with the big ones. They do opera and ballet showings from London and Russia I think. They have concerts and other events and serve beer and wine during special events. The vaulted ceiling is gorgeous and historic. The staff is usually very pleasant. I love going to this theater- it is always a treat!
This is a unique experience. An 85 year old theater with painted ceilings and old beat up buy comfortable chairs. Excellent sound system.
What a wonderful discovery! A lesser-known Cape Cod gem full of local color and history. Discretely selected movies and small live productions on a proscenium stage. Built in 1930, the vaulted auditorium ceiling features a dreamy Deco mural by Rockwell Kent. Seats about 300 in separate arm chairs. Staff is friendly, enthusiastic and helpful.
Great movie titles and old building. It's right behind two really good restaurants for date nights. The murals on the ceiling are interesting too. The only negative is uncomfortable chairs.
