n September 2016, City of Canton and Cherokee County officials decided it was in the best interest to consolidate services of both fire departments. This merger will change the dynamics of fire and emergency services in both Canton and surrounding areas with anticipated improvement. At the same time though 2016 was the 100th anniversary of Canton Fire Department. In honor of the men and women that dedicated their lives to protect and serve the community with top notch quality service; I have renamed this page as a tribute. For the month of December I will be posting pictures each day from the past and present. After the January 1 merger date I will continue to update as I find more pictures. So feel free to share, comment or just enjoy. Thank you.
