Great atmosphere and food. Also, the view of Lake Union isn't bad either.
You can get a drink and snacks in the bar without a reservation.
The vegan tasting menu is a fill-in fine dining experience, and Canlis's service is PERFECT
So excited to have a seven course vegetarian tasting menu...also has a vegan menu w 48 hours notice! Cauliflower soup was my fave
The only place in seattle guaranteed to provide perfect service!
They were unbelievably friendly. The food was superb! They also brought little extras and chocolate to take home. They made our anniversary very special! Just see the attached pic. Definitely go here!
You can never be over-dressed for this place. Wear a jacket, enjoy the view with cocktails and do order the steak tartare.
The Holy Fucking Grail of Seattle fine dinning. Get a window seat, bring a ton of cash and have your mind blown.
Get the lamb chop (if it's in season). Best thing on the menu. Seriously.
ask for a tour of the wine cellar. History of the restaurant is quite amazing and the staff are all skilled storytellers! Hope you enjoy as much as I did.
Did we expect less, of the Canlis lounge, than to excel as a cocktail bar? Extra points for selecting James MacWilliams, a barman known for esoteric experimentation and attention to detail.
The brilliance of Canlis is that it isn’t content to let mythic be enough. Jason Franey is an extraordinary chef: nudging the old girl into the new century without back-burnering classics.
Whatever you order as an entree, the Canlis salad and truffled fried potatoes are great additions.
Stare out the windows and gawk.
Though the food and service has no peers in Seattle, the cocktails from bar manager James MacWilliams are worth a trip alone. [Eater 38 Member]
A cocktail bar may be measured by the quality of its drinks and service, and by a third less-easy-to-pinpoint criterion loosely defined as ambience.
You gotta respect the skill and dedication it has taken to keep a fine-dining restaurant going for so long. The food is the best it’s ever been with Chef Jason Franey in the kitchen.-Maria Hines, Top
The food is very good, but what makes Canlis is the attention to detail and the personal touches provided by the staff. Amazing.
Wine Spectator award 13 years running....2500 selections! Omg! Try the prawns and avocado..excellent!
A special birthday dinner to be done here.
