We found this place by chance several years ago, and go back every year in June/July. Staff is top not, they truly understand customer service. The facility my not be perfect, but the view more than makes up for it.

Absolutely AWESEOME. Super friendly and helpful staff. Jason, the ground keeper is super friendly, very helpful and considerate. Awesome views and the sites are very clean. The park is smaller and located on top of a mountain. Park has clean laundry facilities, private bathrooms, several tent sites, yurts and I believe several rental cottages as well.

This place is one of a kind. Probably one of the best campgrounds in the country. It's not a resort type campground. But if you love nature, amazing views, peace, and a great caretaker then I would recommend. We enjoyed our view from our trailer and enjoyed hiking. I almost didn't want to leave a review to let others know about this place for delicious selfish reasons. There aren't many sites so you want to book early.

This was our second time going to Campfire Lodgings, the first was for vacation and the second was as evacuees from Hurricane Irma. Can't speak highly enough about how nice and helpful the staff was to ensure that we had a spot to park our RV in spite of the fact that we were not sure when we would be able to return home. They went well out of their way to make sure we were as comfortable as we could be. It is a great little campground, with a glorious view, private bathhouse accommodations, and a great pet walk trail for our dogs. Jason and Andy made us feel right at home! The location is perfect for going into Asheville and the surrounding areas. I am forever grateful for their hospitality!

Overpriced!! I have been to campsites just as nice that were half the price. Also if you want to be 'babysat' this is the place for you. The groundskeeper will not leave you alone! He was breathing down our necks the entire time. I asked for a double tent site but we were only allowed 1 car per site which is absolutely ridiculous. Our site was a small hike from where we could park. When paying so much I expect to be able to camp close to my car simply for easier access. Also I kept smelling a terrible smell around our site. While reading the reviews on here I discovered that they have raw sewage running down the hill close to the tent site that we stayed at. They have SO MANY restrictions at this place. The reason I've giving two stars instead of one is because the bathrooms were clean and the view was pretty. However there are plenty of other places in that area with views just as nice.

Great view at the overlook. Very nice tent sites. Wish the tent site was more secluded but that's the only reason it's not 5 stars

Small, beautiful campground. Clean sites. Good privacy. The view looks great on the internet but in person it's even better! Bathroom facilities are not spectacular but it doesn't matter. Book far in advance if you can to get the campsites with the best view. Careful driving up, the big rigs have their hands full going up the entry drive. It's manageable if you go slow! And worth it!!!

This is the nicest camp ground I've ever stayed at. Clean, well kept bathrooms and showers. Gorgeous view of the mountains and river. Free wifi. Nice hiking trails all through the woods on property.

Beautiful views of the mountains and French Broad River. Staff is caring, friendly, and helpful. Located just far enough away from everything, yet still fairly close to downtown Asheville. If you have an RV, the premium spots are worth the upgrade. The campground also offers tent sites and yurts in the more wooded areas of the property.

My husband and I tent camped with our 2 dogs. The place is pretty and bathrooms/showers are very clean. However, we do not plan to go back because the management is not friendly. They told us on the phone that check in is at 2, but we got there at 1 and I went into the office and asked if we could go ahead and set up ( it was calling for rain that afternoon and we wanted to get everything up). The grumpy old lady looked back at her clock and said "You're early! Well if it's ready go ahead.." The next morning they put a big sign on the office that said anyone that checks in early will pay an extra 15 dollar fee. I have been to many hotels where they were more than happy to let me in hours early.. And we are talking about asking to set up a tent on a piece of dirt one hour before check in time.. We probably spent 40 dollars in fire wood and they were unfriendly every time I went up to the office to buy it. Good luck being inhospitable in the hospitality business, we will find somewhere else to camp.

The premium sites here are the best. The views are amazing. Super helpful staff with RV, tent and yurt camping. Small and peaceful. Convenient to all parts of Asheville.

Such a wonderful place to camp! Not only was the view beautiful but the staff was great! First night we were there, they gave us a heater since it was cold and they were very helpful the whole time we were there. I would highly reccomend this place to anyone! Clean bathrooms and laundry room as well. I can't wait to go back someday.
