  Congratulations to the Mustang Varsity Boys Basketball team, they have made it to the playoffs! Game is Friday Feb. 1st at 4:30 pm. It is being played at Joy Christian Academy, 21000 75th Ave. Glendale, AZ. Admission fee is $4 for adults, $2 for students, FREE for ages 4 & under. All fans are welcome!

  Hello Calibre Families,

  This is Mrs. Kaplan with Calibre happenings. We would like to give a shout out to Mrs. Leadabrand and her committee (Ms. Peterson, Ms. Swanson, and Mrs. Hartley) for running a successful and fun reading night. Please check out the pictures on FB and Instagram. Starting Monday, STUCO will be selling Valentine Grams during middle school lunch and after school. The price ranges from $1-$5. Next Friday, we will start our next character count trait – re...spect. Students may wear yellow on this Friday at no cost. The 3rd graders will present to the 5th graders all about respect and their country, Ireland.

  We have had an amazing start to getting pledges for the Fun Run, which will take place on February 6th. Thank you for all of your support. We are sure it is going to be successful. On February 6th we are supposed to have a spirit day – Disney day. We are going to move it to March since this is also the Fun Run. February 6th is also an early release day.

  We are having a kindergarten roundup for potential kindergarten students for next year. This evening will take place on Tuesday, February 5th from 5-6 PM in the MPR. Please let anyone you know that may be interested about this night. Our choir will also be joining the Surprise city council meeting on February 5th. They will be singing the National Anthem and telling the council about our wonderful school and students.

  Calibre Academy will be hosting an Usborne Book Fair March 5th through March 8th. The students and teachers will be able to view the books on Tuesday, March 5th. The book fair is open to shop Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30 till 9am and 2:30 till 4pm. And then the book fair is open from 7:30 am till 4pm on Friday, the 8th. The school will receive 50% back from all sales in FREE BOOKS for the school's library. Come out and support your school library!

  Tomorrow the varsity cheerleaders take the mat at the TSC cheer competition in Anthem. We wish them luck.

  Hello Calibre Families!

  This is Mrs. Kaplan with Calibre happenings. Happy 100th day of school. This year is going by so fast. With only 80 days left in the school year please make sure your student is turning in all of their work and giving 100% effort. A wonderful way to capture this school year is by purchasing a yearbook. Information on how to order one is in the office or on FB. We will also be selling love lines. For a small fee you can write your student a mess...age in the yearbook. Look for information on FB and in the Tuesday folder.

  Monday we have no school in honor of MLK. When we return we will begin getting ready for our Fun Run which will be on February 6th. On Wednesday we have the kickoff in the gym. Your student will bring home information on this day. Thursday is our annual Escape Room Reading Night at 6:00 PM in the MPR. Flyers went home weeks ago. Friday we will celebrate January birthdays. Your homeroom teacher will let you know when they are celebrating in their classroom. Open enrollment starts Tuesday, January 22nd. Please let your friends and neighbors know. If you haven’t sent in your re-enrollment form please turn it in to ensure you have a spot for next year. We will have Kinder Roundup on February 5th at 5:00 PM in the MPR. Please let any potential kinder families know.

  Smencils will continue to be sold before/after school all next week for $1. Starting Monday, January 28th, Student Council will be selling Valentines Grams. Be on the lookout for more information.
