Located on Crystal Point, overlooking the panoramic Lake Tahoe, Cal Neva Resort & Casino will offer the perfect combination of entertainment, restaurants, and spectacular views paired with one of the world’s most adventurous recreational landscapes.
Once a secret haven for Frank Sinatra and his Rat Pack, Marilyn Monroe, members of the Kennedy family and other Hollywood bold-faced names, Cal Neva reached its heyday in the 1960s. San Francisco’s upper crust, Hollywood stars and international dignitaries, were attracted to Cal Neva Resort’s mystique as a true Lake Tahoe classic. The original lodge was built in 1926 by wealthy San Francisco businessman Robert P. Sherman, who used the resort as a guesthouse for his friends and real estate clients.
Cal Neva was once part-owned by Frank Sinatra, who held an interest from 1960 to 1963. Judy Garland performed at the lodge in 1935 with her sisters where she was spotted by MGM talent scouts and signed a few months later. Over the years, guests have included Marilyn Monroe, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Joe DiMaggio, Clara Bow, Will Rogers, Peter Lawford, John F. Kennedy, Juliet Prowse, and Dick Buek.
Cal Neva Resort & Casino is owned by Criswell-Radovan LLC, a Napa, CA-based development company which acquired the Cal Neva Resort & Casino in spring 2013.
