Delivered the cake 30 minutes late!! Upon arrival icing was bulging off of it! And she was demanding another $20 because the delivery was outside of Key West. The venue had a Key West address but was on Big Coppitt. She never asked which Key it was on, only for the address which she had a month in advance. We were not trying to be deceitful, we would have paid it and still did. We just paid the extra $20, just because she had already delayed the wedding 30 minutes and we needed a cake, even if it was flawed! In total we paid a $60 dollar delivery fee for a late, flawed cake to be delivered 10 miles.

I was extremely disappointed by my wedding cake. My mother ordered a cake for our key west wedding and reception at her house. Since I was not available to taste anything, she ordered a white cake/vanilla frosting- the basics. Taste test or not, there is no excuse for a baker to not make a delicious vanilla cake! We would have been better off getting a publix cake- or better yet making a Duncan Hines cake! It was probably the worst cake I've ever tasted in my life- dry with no flavor and the buttercream also had little flavor. We sliced it and everyone had a bite or two and it was all thrown away. We considered saving the top layer for our anniversary, but imagine super dry, terrible cake after a year of being frozen- ew! In the end it was a pretty & expensive decoration and not a dessert for our guests and us.

WOW! We had a wonderful experience with Cakes by Karol. From start to finish everything was perfect. friendly & helpful staff, perfect presentation, and most importantly: DELICIOUS CAKE!! It was to-die-for! Cakes by Karol truly exceeded our expectations in every way.

Cakes by Karol did the most amazing job on our wedding cake!!! The cake was beautiful and flavors were to die for. The cupcakes were the margarita flavor and our top tier was margarita cake with raspberry filling, chocolate buttercream and white fondant icingAMAZING absolutely amazing!!! We will definitely use her again. Thank you so much!!!

I ordered a pina colada cake with coconut filling from Cakes by Karol for my best friend's 30th birthday as a surprise. We drove from Ft. Lauderdale to Key West to celebrate. Cakes by Karol accommodated us by having the cake ready for pick up a day earlier than I scheduled with them and the cake tasted delicious. It was only 5 of us so I ordered a small cake (serves 8-10) people and we literally (friendly, but serious lol) argued over how many slices we each got. It was delicious. I wish we had time because I would have ordered more for the trip back home!!! Thanks so much Cakes by Karol!!

For our wedding, we ordered a dessert tower for our guests. Cakes by Karol whipped up some fantastic key lime, strawberry cheesecake and chocolate mousse shooters that everyone raved about! We were working long-distance and the entire process was easy, we we very pleased with the results. Very budget friendly as well. Highly recommend!

Our wedding cake was to die for. It was a rum cake, double layered with raspberry and coconut custard. The outside was chocolate custard with different colored edible sea shells. The entire cake was done VEGAN! Our guests could not believe it!
It was a daunting task since it was a destination wedding and our previous arrangements fell through, but Anna was so incredibly patient with me and took the order although the wedding was only two weeks away. I can not appropriately describe the level of professional and patience Anna showed me, but just know that your wedding will be in safe hands with Cakes by Karol!response / report this review -

I ordered an anniversary cake as a surprise for my husband while we were on vacation in the keys; I had in mind what I wanted and found a cake very close to what I wanted and requested a couple of personal touches which she easily accommodated! She was easy to work with, quick to respond to email and the end result was awesome! Cake was delicious, anniversary was made special! Thank you for making it part of a great vac!

We spent my wife's birthday in Key West. Working with Cakes by Karol was a breeze.. We coordinated most of the details via email On my morning walk I stopped in an paid for it and they delivered to the house on the morning of her birthday.

I ordered my wedding cake from Cakes by Karol and it was a great experience! It started with visiting the shop for the cake tasting in advance, which was so much fun! I ordered 3 different flavors of cake and filling for my 3 tier wedding cake, (vanilla cake and strawberry filling, key lime cake and raspberry filling, red velvet cake and crème cheese filling) as well as a chocolate cake and peanut butter filling groom's cake with Florida State logo, surrounded by strawberries. (I uploaded a photo of them onto this Google website.) Karol got all my requests right, and the cakes were delivered on time and were beautiful! We got a lot of positive reviews from guests as well. I didn't even get to try the red velvet as everyone ate it first :) I would definitely recommend Cakes by Karol!
