  Food was great! Flavorful and seasoned. We did come in at 8:15 when they close at 9 and the only complaint I would have is the lady who seated us who was older with short blonde hair said “two?” After we said yes she pointed and said “you can go over there” and then she walked with us to the table, threw down the menus and mumbled the special and walked away. Made us feel very unwanted and uncomfortable. But! Our waitress made us feel much better! She was kind, courteous and friendly. We both work late hours in retail and understand that “last min customer” but we only got one day to us and wanted to try it for our first time!

  Always delicious. Worth the wait. Ron is a typical bayou boy. Friendly and welcoming.
  After leaving Gulfport Mississippi to move here I missed real Cajun food.

  This is my favorite place to eat, I drive 2 hours just to eat here.. if you want authentic Cajun food this is the place! Ron usually comes out to visit with the customers and is always funny, his staff is great!

  Everything we tried was fantastic. So flavorful and fresh! Alligator, shrimp, catfish, blackened ribeye, gumbo, 2-fay - sho'am good tastin'! Even the coffee was great. Waitresses friendly. Service good. It is out where Jesus left his sandals, but worth the drive. Lines form outside before it opens...20+ people last Sunday before noon opening.

  Love their food. One of regular stops when in the area. Blackened catfish, crawfish etouffe, fried alligator. Yummy!

  The food is very good if you like Cajun cuisine. Captain Ron will come to your table if he had the time. The place is rather small and they do not take reservations. If you go, try the alligator. They have authentic Cajun meals.

  The quality of food here is exceptional. Service is fast and efficient, and the atmosphere is cozy. You might have to wait for awhile for a table, but it so well worth it. Love the fact the owner has conversations with the customers table side, shows he truly cares about his business.

  I have been here a few times, and the food has always been wonderful. Recently, I brought three of my students here on our way back to Rock Falls after a writing conference in Bloomington. They wanted to try something new, so I thought this would be a fun place for them. Our waitress was so helpful and patient with my students and provided wonderful suggestions. The students had a blast, and the food was terrific as always.

  Not much to look at, out in the middle of nowhere, loud, and crazy busy. But wow, what food! Just proves you can't judge a book by its cover.
  Great Cajun cooking - just like my friends made for me when I visited LA years ago.
  New favorite out-of-the-way place.
  Visit Cajun Connection - you won't be disappointed.

  This place is ALWAYS spot on! Never mind the short wait for the most unique food and fun atmosphere anywhere around. Took my best friend from the city and she was super impressed too! Tip: Get the special of the day! Some places give you food they need to get rid of as the special. THIS place really has a SPECIAL menu each week of fresh and wonderful Cajun specialties!

  Awesome food. I am a southerner and it was great to eat a meal like being back at home. Cajun Joe and staff are super. He provided a great time and i would like to offer him many thanks. We will all be back for mor soon.

  We love Cajun Connection!! But I must say our last visit was not very pleasant not because of the food, because of people sitting behind us. Three women sat at one end of the table playing with their cell phones,and 5 children at the other end with out supervision. Two 2 year olds screaming at the top of their lungs, (the women laughing) 2 boys maybe 4&6 running around the place and 1 around 8 or 10 who probably has to take care of the others since she was left in the car with the other children while the 3 women argued about the bill! The amount of food on the floor from the kids was unbelievable. I wanted to say something but stopped short. I believe that lack of training,teaching and discipline is just as abusive as some other things people do. I feel sorry for the children and think the mothers need disciplined. I hope they are never there when lm there again because I think I'll have to say something. Thy won't be able to use the race card with me!!!

  Vacationed in Florida once then had to stop in here for some good gator. This is a family style restaurant meaning if you don't like it you don't have to come back. Great food. Great service but by no means is the ambience anything to brag about. This is the best food outside NOLA.
