  Help, I have been taken hostage by a bunch of insane French Canadians and all they have been going on about shallots all day, what the hell is a shallot? Anyways, seriously I just barely got wifi service in this restaurant and need help please. Oh and the bread is really warm, its nice.

  Happy mouth is how I feel every time I eat at Cafe Provence. The food is high quality, fresh and delicious. The staff is top notch, warm an inviting atmosphere. I wish I lived closer but it is so worth the trip.

  Absolutely delicious! It was relatively quiet in the restaurant. ....Tuesday night. We were seated immediately and our very sweet server brought us ice water. I had the carrot pear ginger soup and my husband had the chilled cucumber soup. Both were very tasty! For dinner, I had the beef medallions, cooked perfectly with garlic mashed and a vegetable medley......wonderful!! My husband had the seafood stew and he loved it!!! Even the warm bread (honey wheat, maybe) was perfect! We highly recommend Cafe Provence in beautiful Brandon, VT!!

  Great food, great atmosphere! Just know when you come that it takes a little longer to receive your dinner because everything is being made fresh and to order. You are not going to be rushed in and out, like at other restaurants so they can seat more people. It's my favorite place to come with a group of friends.

  Unfortunately a bad experience.
  
  We felt very forgotten – seated in an end-of-the-row booth, though several more pleasing tables were empty. It took 20 minutes to put in an order, another 15 for mine to arrive - which we picked at for 10 minutes before we managed to flag our waitress down and enquire about my wife's salad. They threw that together very quickly – and it showed. The salad was advertised as having avocado. On top of being very sparse, it did not have avocado. Turns out they were out of avocado – a surprise not only to us, but to our waitress. Her exchange with the kitchen - very audible to us - sounded so much like we were the problem that my wife had had enough and let the waitress know we didn't appreciate being cast off as the problem. To the waitresses' credit, she came to our table and apologized profusely for any miscommunication and tried to get her manager/hostess to adjust our bill accordingly. We never heard from the manager/hostess. Through the waitress, she offered a free desert – no thanks. We paid our bill and left with a dim view of the restaurant and town – and an empty stomach.

  We stopped going there after bad experience
  Service was horrible. My wife's main course came before my appetizer and then she had to wait while I had my main course
  Manager knew we were upset with service but didn't bother to come to our table to apologize
  Owner was also in the restaurant and made no effort
  
  This wasn't the first time we had less than satisfactory service
  
  Too many other fine restaurants in the area

  recommended by a local resident we were on a biking trip and stopped in for lunch. the food was excellent and the staff were great. unfortunately I left my glasses there and didn't realize it until hours later on our trip. I called to ask if they were there and they confirmed and sent them back in short order. thank you
