In 1984, Dragan Kecman, who arrived in Chicago from Serbia ten years earlier, had a major event occur. He opened his own deli at 2937 W Irving Park Rd in Chicago. Together with his family, they were to built one of the most successful ethnic businesses outside – at that time Yugoslavia. Beograd Meat Market started as a true neighborhood store, focused on the best Serbian foods, the freshest meats and produce, and service that included interacting with customers on a first name basis.

Growing

In 2002, Dusko Pavlovic, along with his family, became a new owner. His following years were hard in terms of maintaining the quality and service the customers expected. Hard work and effort opened new chapter for the young owners; with new business units: Beograd Bakery and Sweet Shop, House of Crepes, Restaurant and Café, Catering, and Online Shopping, we became a leader in a specialty food industry.
