  Cozy neighborhood spot for deep dish pizza. Host/server treated us like family. She steered us right to the rotating craft beers and sausage pie. Pizza was delish: dough cake-like with crispy, caramelized edges, sauce tangy amd well-seasoned, cheese great, sausage fresh. Atmosphere, service, and food were perfect for a cold day. Burt's Place is my happy place.

  The staff, food, and service all here was terrific. Since this place reopened with the new management, it has gotten better. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try one of the good local places in the area.

  Very small dining room, delicious deep dish pizza. Consider calling ahead for dine-in and take out.

  The pizza was good. The owner and staff were friendly. The menu was acceptable, the drink menu was surprisingly robust. I'd be glad to come back again.

  The staff was incredibly nice and attentive. The pizza is from another planet, it's so good. I've had it all in the Chicago area and this is by far the best if you like a caramelized crust and pan style. Not like the typical deep dish overloaded. Very good sauce, crust and cheese ratio. Never got to meet Burt, but he would be proud!

  My 2nd time in 10 years. First time was when Burt was still alive. This time, excellent and friendly help, new beer garden, and they take credit cards now! The pie was almost as good as I remember it, but not quite as good as when Burt was running the pizza oven.

  Absolutely amazing, this pan pizza will change you. Burt made an amazing pizza and the owners there are doing an excellent job with his legacy.

  The pizza was great but when we got the bill we had a very unpleasant surprise. We were told that a beer we ordered was on the house but we were charged for it and over charged by a few dollars in general. As I was looking at the bill, something didn't add up and sure enough the total was more than what it should have been. We mentioned it to one of the owners and he said "I guess I did charge for the beer" and took the bill to review it. He returned with a revised bill--still charging us for the beer--and didn't seem too concerned about mistakenly over charging us or telling us something was on the house and then charging us for it. Double check your bill before you pay.

  Simply overrated pizza place!!!!! Owners have attitude, ordering a pizza from this place is like getting a clearance from secret service!!!!! When here on Sunday of it's first opening week. Was excited. I had this pizza before it closed few yrs ago. But looks like they are still suffering from same issues. ATTITUDE, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND THEY THINK THEIR PIZZA IS THE BEST. When I went there they gave us our table, then they didn't even ask if we wanted any drinks or water or anything else. You sit and the guy will come with pizza. Which was not even cooked properly. If you need 24 hr notice to make a pizza at least make it properly. Then when didn't ask us for drinks we had to ask the guy if we can order some drinks. He didn't bring the correct drink. Then when you call them to inform them about the drink they take with sarcasm. Over this place is seriously overrated, Pequods which is a block from this place is way better, great pizza, great service, zero attitude. Honestly it's their attitude and service is the issue. Not going here again.

  Burt put gullivers and pequods on the map his version of a deep dish pan pizza is unique a delicious I need to see how it is with the change of ownership but inhearvgood things

  For the people writing the negative reviews about the personalities of the ownership before burt himself passed away the greatest thing was he didn't care what you thought. He did things his way and that was it and you have to admire someone that does that.

  I was looking forward to having Burt's pizza and all the great reviews over the years. Ordered a large pizza and the dough was not cooked. Barely any sausage toppings or cheese. It was like eating cold bread with sauce. I had better frozen pizza. Not even worth a star. That was my experience.

  The pizza was great, the appetizers were good. The service especially with the new owners was really good i got to walk in with out a reservation and within 10 minutes my food came out. The crust was the best i ever has there was cheese on the crust not in it. The pizza was not to bready and the sausage and pepperoni was cooked and season perfectly. I would definitely go back there again!
