The food looks very good, tastes great and the homemade ice cream and deserts were out of this world. Based STRICTLY on my one and only visit, the service was extremely slow (10 minutes after seated our drink order was taken). It took an additional 15 minutes to take our food order and nearly 20 more minutes to receive our order. They food was lukewarm, at best, if not borderline cold. The cause, I feel, was that our server was a young girl more interested in sitting at a table full of young men and talking to them rather than waiting on her customers. My rating could've very easily been a 5 Star had we gotten a server that cared about service. I had to get up and get my own tea refills for the family. Please keep in mind that the food was good, just cold because it sat in the window too long.

Went to dinner there last night and went to pay our bill and we asked for the military discount, my husband show the clerk his military ID card and his Veterans Administration card and was told that wasn't acceptable ID! The last time we checked that was all the ID cards we need to go in and out any military base in the USA. Then she told my husband that we needed to live in Wilksboro to be able to get the discount. This is a DISGRACE!!! Men and women service our country and you( Brushy Mountains Smokehouse) have a sign on the door saying that you honor the military and veterans. To say the least we won't be going back there!!!

Love going here to get their ice cream! It is the best around. Their food and salad bar is good as well! If I am going to get ice cream anywhere, I will stop here first before I go somewhere else!
