This place has a great setting, right on a stream with a waterfall. You walk over a covered bridge to enter the restaurant

    What a horrible place.

It sounded really nice. We decided to make reservations for a very special birthday dinner. When we got there the waterfall was dry: an unfortunate result of the summer heat I suppose. The staff didn't have a table ready for us when we arrived even though we made the reservation well ahead of time and arrived exactly when planned. We had to wait for them to prepare a table. That's certainly not how dinner reservations are supposed to work.

Also, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. It was the kind of setup I would expect at a truck stop, not a "nice" restaurant.

When we were finally seated, our view was overlooking three or four drunk men wearing dirty Tshirts, seated outside, smoking cigarettes and being loud and crass. I expected a waterfall view. The atmosphere was worse than I could have imagined.

When I finally got a look at the menu, the prices really surprised me. The food is radically expensive. Both my date and I tried to order the prime rib (which is apparently the signature dish here) only to be informed that the kitchen had none.

At this point, I handed the waitress my menu and asked for the check for our drinks and appetizer.

This restaurant should have closed years ago. You can honestly get a better dining experience at mcdonalds.

Have always had a good meal except this last visit, my son's strip steak was awful the rest of our meals 3 others were ok. It does happen to have the best ranch dressing wedge salad I have had. The restraunt is an old chart House that is stuck squarely in 1979.

My meal came out luke warm at best. Our waitress was apologetic and offered to have the chef warm my meal. I ordered a steak, so warming it would have it cooked more than I desired. If my meal had come to the table hot, it would have been cooked perfectly.
This was a second chance for the Brushmill and they failed miserably. The last time we were here it was just as bad. They attempted to cook my steak twice, both times I sent it back.
My parents ordered the prime rib and it was very clear that the prime rib was not cooked today and it was served without au jus.
For the cost of these meals they should be perfect. Every time. So this evening the Brushmill left me with a half eaten meals that cost me over $150 Very disappointing.
The food quality at this restaurant has declined with each visit as for the past 10+ years we've been coming after seeing a show at the Goodspeed (3 times per year).
    Save your money.

Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and tasty food. With friends and family one of my favorite places to eat. And if you want the best Prime Rib around you can't bet this place.

I have to say I have been to this restaurant since it was the Chart House 30 yrs ago.. Thankfully they stopped the ala carte menu, everything cost extra.
I got better when it became the Brush mill. , I like either a petite fillet or a NY strip, both cooked on a wood fired grill. The prior owners broke apart and suddenly the service went bad. To go on a night when it's empty and we are obviously done and left to wait in an empty dining room is irritating and a bit eerie. Maybe the ghosts of men and children who worked in this factory remain still. Dining is on a second floor sadly with no handicap access. The only way up is an old set of steep steps You can eat off a bar menu in the lounge but I like a comfortable table and chairs.
Dinners begin with an iceberg quarter, chipped delicious tomatoes and a house dressing that's delicious and your only choice. Dinners also came with a choice of starch and a side vegetable. The bread is homemade and if its a special occasion you might get sung to and get a free dessert, their signature mud pie. It is less than 5 minutes from my house but the bad service just kept repeating. I give 5 stars for the food, the service 2. A nice place for a special event or to cozy up in front of the fire in comfy couches and chairs and enjoy good company. A lovely covered bridge with a waterfall leads you in to this historical building. I hope they've straightened out their service.

Lobster bisque was amazing. The scallops special was ruined by way too much pepper seasoning. I wish they didn't do that😦

My new favorite restaurant. Service exceptional, food absolutely fabulous, cocktails not cheap on the liquor! You walk in the door and you can smell the wonderful age to the mill. I would highly recommend this restaurant. 3.6 stars, is not a fair rating for this wonderful dining establishment!
