Comfort is a personal realization that only the individual can appreciate. The design I have adopted has been tested with a wide range of physical shapes. As a result I have gone a step further to modify the design.
Each piece of furniture is custom and therefore it takes time in its creation. I will not take rush orders as it may compromise my work. My personal standards of quality are based on doing my best at every junction and not take short cuts. Each item is a creation and one that requires great care and skill. I owe that commitment to all of my clients and will not waiver from that standard of quality.
Each Rocker has its wood selected for color and grain. In working with the wood, countless hours of fine detail fitting, sanding and shaping takes place. My Rockers feature a sculpted locking mortis and tenon jointery, sculpted surfaces, flowing intersections, subtle curves and a finish to delight the hand and eye. After all the work is completed, each Rocker is signed, dated and numbered for its authenticity. Multiple coats of tung oil are applied by hand over a seven day period with a light buffing using 0000 steel wool between coats. In all it takes about 150 – 200 hours to complete. I take pride in my work because this type of furniture will be around for a long time.
