Very bad experience. They ordered the wrong dress and never return phone calls. Not a good way to run a store.
Can not explain how terrible the service is here. You could be standing out front for half an hour before anyone asks you anything. I had employees even look at me, but never help me. Not a really great way to run a business. The attitude for the place was not well either. People were rude and acted like they could care less if they had my business or not.
I thought staying local was a good thing even after hearing to stay away from Bridal Emporium. I'll let our daughter post a review about her wedding dress ordeal. As far as tuxes. What a mess. They called the groom said all tuxes were in. So our other daughter calls and asks if she can come in to have her son the ring bearer try on his tux. They said well it's not in. If she would not have called she would have drove 40 minutes 1 way for nothing. His shoes were double the size of his feet. By the wedding we had 3 pairs of shoes in various sizes. When my husband tried on his tux the pants were huge on a Wednesday. The lady who was also a seamstress yanked the pants up and said you will where your pants up where they belong when you walk down the isle and for pictures. It was a demanding tone no humor. She seemed to forget who was paying the bill. They ordered a smaller pair of pants said in the next day and my husband should come back. He took off work early to go in and try on the new pair and they were not there. So a wasted trip. Friday the day before the wedding I go to pick up 4 tuxes. I walk in at 3:20. There is a bride and another girl there for a fitting . They have yet to be waited on. There is 1 employee fitting a boy for a tux for homecoming. The employee never looked at me, or acknowledged me in any way. The other ladies waiting and I talked while we patiently waited to be helped. Soon a young guy comes in to pick up a tux. Yet again no comment to him by the employee. After 40 minutes I open a curtain and see other employees in the back sewing. Thinking they would see me I don't say anything. By then I was beyond aggregated. We were to be at rehearsal at 5 in another town. So I go back to the curtain and open it and low and behold someone is coming out. I tell her we all have been waiting and have places to be. Soon we have 3 employees helping. They have no record of the ring bearer at all. I can't believe it. I get the tuxes and not one apology for waiting. I told her I stood her 40 minutes and was never acknowledged I even walked in the door. The one mom said she was there for the 3rd time that week and it still wasn't right. They were there for a final fitting and they were doing alterations when they got there. I was beyond mad when I left at 4:10. Please don't waste your time or your money by shopping here. Obviously the owner doesn't care and neither do most employees. We did deal with a few that were nice so I can't say they are all bad. Would have rated a "0" if it w as a option.
Very disappointed in the service we received. We thought we would shop local. Even with the mixed reviews we had heard. Never again here. We were told by the person who originally measured for the dress it would fit. When the dress came in ..it didn't fit. We were told by another person they would have to order more material (for a fee) because the dress we ordered doesn't come in the size we needed. And for another fee they could fix it. We go back again for a final fitting talked to yet another person the dress is now too short. .just in the back. They were not supposed to hem it and there is nothing they can do to fix it. For as much as these dresses cost I expect better. We won't go back and wouldn't recommend this place.
I called today to ask about Plus sized Mother of the Bride dresses. They said they had a selection to choose from. I asked if I needed an appointment. They replied no. I told them I would be in close to 1030. The girl replied "No problem hun. " I drove close to an hr to get there. The greeting wasn't overly friendly. I was showed to a rack of dresses, asked the color of the wedding and when it was. The girl started to pull 2 dresses of off the rack and put me in a dressing room to try on. And she left me. One size was a 20, and one was a 12. Didn't like either, one didn't even fitat all. I went to show someone, no one would help me. No one offered help, suggestions, assistance of any kind. I heard them say they had an 11:00 appt there and another bride showed up and they were gone. No help, no offers to help, no apologies no nothing. Hands down the worst service I've ever had anywhere. Clearly they had no time for me even though they expected me. Don't waste your time here. Instead go to St Mary's to the Island boutique.
They were very misleading about the dress sizes for all the girls in the bridal party. Some had to pay extra for a larger size just to have to go back and get it taken in. But that's not the worst part!! The bride was supposed to pick up her dress the Monday before the wedding and her dress still wasn't done!!!!! They told her to come back Wednesday when the wedding was Saturday! ! Talk about a disappointment! It was so stressful for the bride and everyone involved! When you give someone a day that something is to be done you should stick to it and honor your commitment to that other person!!
Wish I had the option of not giving them any stars. Bad experience from the start and it continued to get worse. My bridesmaid and I had made an appointment for a Saturday and from the time we walked in to the time we left I felt like no one even wanted us there and we were an inconvenience to them. Very bad customer service. We had heard good things about the place and that's the only reason we went there and ended up being on such a time crunch that we went with a purchase which I now totally regret. I would have rather gotten my bridesmaid dress from a Macy's instead. When we decided to go with the purchase we were told we are right at a time where we might want to do a rush shipment which was fine with us and they were supposed to give us a call the next day after finding out if we should or not then we never heard from them. After waiting a day we called them and they just decided to order it without and we would have the dress by the first of August. Well my wedding is September 17 and still hadn't had the dress in the middle of August. Kept calling to speak to managers but only got the response saying they would call us. Then finally got an actual response saying we would receive a call from the manager last Tuesday by 1030 then never heard from anyone and come to find out they weren't even open! So then we were lied to.
after finally getting the dress and barely having time for alterations we didn't even receive an apology about anything. I will never ever go back to this store for another dress and would never refer this place to anyone.
If I had the option to choose 0 stars, I would have. This store definitely doesn't even deserve to earn 1 star. We ordered my bridesmaid dresses at least 8 and half months before my wedding. When I called about a month after the original due date, they told me they were going to be in any time and not to worry. So I called about a month later and got the same response, but it was around Christmas time, so I figured maybe that was the reason for the delay. I got that same response until mid January and then I was stern and demanded to know where they were. 7 of the 8 dresses came in by the end of January, almost 7 months later. They told me they were going to contact the dress company and let me know what was going on ASAP. A few days later, I called them and they said the company didn't find the dress in their warehouse, so it may be in the factory in China. Unfortunately, China is shut down for the Chinese New year for a month! I'm just hoping to get the dress before my wedding. They said they would actually hand make my bridesmaid a dress, and that they have done that before-so obviously this has happened to numerous people in the past. No bride or bridesmaid should have to go through that, especially when everything was paid for in full. I don't appreciate being put on the back burner for months and months. The employees are all very nice until you figure out that their stories don't add up. I admit, I was very rude to the girl on the phone the day they told me the dress wasn't found, but I was obviously very upset about the situation. When I called them again later in the day, one of the employees was extremely nasty and unprofessional to say the least. NEVER NEVER NEVER go to The Bridal Emporium. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. People deserve SOOOO much better!!!
VERY VERY RUDE/ HATEFUL/ CRUDE STAFF
I ordered my wedding dress in late August 2015 for my early June 2016 wedding. The lady who helped us out was very nice and professional and helped me choose the right dress for me. After paying the down payment I was promised my dress would arrive in 10-16 weeks after placing the order. The date is currently January 30th, 2016 and I just picked up my dress! When I would call to check in on it the same woman would answer the phone every time, was persistently rude to me and on our final phone conversion when she told me the dress was in mocked me when I said with relief the dress was finally in. And during the whole waiting time they never actually knew where my dress was, or the current status of it. They have beautiful dresses here but it's not worth the wait or the attitude of the staff members.
**UPDATE as of 02/23/2016 **
Brought my dress home and my personal seamstress found that the belt had been sewn on very crooked. After looking at pictures you could clearly tell this was so. I called The Bridal Emporium to let them be aware of this issue. Again the same "Manager" named Patti answers the phone and is very hateful/ crude with me and says to e-mail the store the pictures. After several hours of back and forth as to if they got my e-mail with Patti, the owner, Diana told me the store e-mail had been down for weeks. After a discussion with the owner she told me to bring the dress back and they would fix it for free. I don't live anywhere near this store, nor do I trust or have the time for their seamstress to fix this. THEN I was told if I wouldn't have picked up my dress so soon that they could have fixed it before I knew about it. They had the dress a FULL week before I picked it up. Long store short I will have to eat the charges to have the defaults fixed.
PLEASE at all cost avoid going to this store to pick out the most important dress you will ever buy! They take no pride in anything they sell and are very hateful people.
I had the best experience at the Bridal Emporium! My mom had gotten her dress there as well as my sister in law so I knew I had to go there. It was the first place I looked and I found the perfect dress! They had such unique styles that I looking for and the costumer service was great! I think the best thing they did to help me was telling me I could pick three dresses that I liked and then when I found a fourth one I had to eliminate one of my top three. This was helpful because it narrowed down my choices and helped me find what I was dreaming of :)
