I went on a tour of Bowie State University last Thursday and I loved it. Im currently going into my last year of high school and I really wanted to visit because I'm thinking about applying. I got to see fraternities and sororities, dining hall, criminal justice building because they have a great program. Overall experience I loved it!!!

A bit scattered and disoriented the first go-around but fairly easy to adjust to with further exposure. The meals are quite excellent.

I have my little sister applying there. They send us an email saying that they've received all her documents and that in 2 weeks she'll get her admission decision and after 2 weeks they tell us that she's missing items.
Since she started applying I called the Bowie State University department for International students (his name is Martin Dada) of the thousand times I called, he has picked only once never responded to emails or voicemails. I ask myself what they do in that office. Smh.

Like any other college, Bowie State has it's issues but I can honestly say that I can call this place home. Everyone on campus is so inviting and welcoming, the professors care about your success (some of them), and the clubs are amazing. College is really what you make it. If you get involved in organizations and in the campus life, you will absolutely love it. The more people I meet, the more I love the campus. Being an HBCU makes it even better, there's a lot of "campus conversations" sessions held a couple times a week where they discuss issues and news of the black community and I love going to every single one of them. The environment is so comfortable and you meet a lot of great people. The dorms aren't the best but the pride and "family-like" community of the university makes up for it. Bowie state was/is honestly the best decision I've ever made. They are family to me and Bowie State is my home.
