I asked an employee for help, she was most helpful.
Burdines has a great combination of variety and seasonal favorites. For finding something special this is a great place to go close to home.
Felt the need to write a review after seeing some negative ones here. I've been to other garden centers and come across some staff that aren't always knowledgeable, which I understand. Sorry, folks, but these workers are mostly manual labor, not botanists. I would suggest doing some research because there are plenty of sites that'll tell you which plants are toxic to dogs and cats. Bordine's is a bit of a drive for me, but I do stop there when in the area because they have a great selection.
I went earlier this year. There was a total of about four shoppers in the place including myself. I tried to ask for help finding plants that would be safe for my cats. I attempted to ask a gentleman who worked there which plants were safe for cats. He told me which ones I was interested in and I said "well. I need to know which ones are safe and I'll be able to pick the ones I want from there" and he says something like "well I need to know which ones you're looking at to tell you" So basically I felt like a huge bother to him and he wouldn't tell me which plants were safe for cats which is about 10% of the like 3 tables they had at the time. Would not recommend if you need any assistance at all.
Lacking in some niche products here and there but they make up for it in such a wide selection of plants of all types, veggies/fruits for planting, etc. Knowledgeable staff, too.
Used to love it, but after I got reprimanded for returning a plant uncovered on a 56 degree day I no longer do. I walked 40' to their front door and had a lady angrily tell me that I should have had a plant covered before I returned it. I said well it is 56 degrees outside, and she stated that it wasn't good enough. Not to mention the same plant I returned that I paid $25 for was found at Kroger for $10.
Love this place, so many great plants, knowledgeable staff, it's great. Also at Christmas they sell real and artificial trees and decorations too
A bit more pricey than big box home improvement stores, but you get what you pay for. Very knowledgeable staff can answer whatever question you have about a given plant, or even recommend what's best for your situation. You won't get that at Lowe's.
Best selection anywhere of poinsettias, and if you go the weekend after Thanksgiving, you may catch them at a huge discount! Plenty of upscale and themed Christmas ornaments, fresh and artificial Christmas trees, and quality light sets.
Many beautiful houseplants of excellent quality available year-round.
3 different people told me cactus shipments were coming at 3 different dates, the people that work there have little insight about when plants come in
Beautiful grounds and great selection and hardy plants but rather pricey. A fun place to shop if you don't require help. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes service is excellent, other times like a drone at a fast food drive through. Three stars overall.
