The pulled pork is excellent. Cozy restaurant and bar. They have a meat sundae I don’t think you need to know anything else.

Traveling and just passed by while we were hungry. VERY glad we decided to stop! The atmosphere is interesting. The staff is knowledgeable of their menu and history, friendly, and give great service! The food is delicious (TRY the pulled BBQ Chicken and homemade Clam Chowder ) Portions are generous and the prices are VERY reasonable! ( For two people, we both upgraded our sides and split one dessert, it was $32 and change ) Not to mention, they sell shirts with their logo, when we went to pay for our TWO shirts, it was ONLY $25. We have a new favorite Michigan restaurant!!!

Country food.. Great flavor. Big portions. Okay/Good prices. Staff is always friendly. Older building but they try to update throughout the years. Live music on certain days ( I think Thursdays )
Pulled pork is good. ( Long time favorite
Brisket is hit or miss ( had it about 10 times )
Catfish is good. ( 3 times )
Lots of sides and good. ( Just about all of them, never been disappointed )

Great place to eat! I had the ribs, they were so tender they fell off the bone. I order a side order of the macaroni it was delicious!
Service was great, I will certainly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. Very generous amount of food, I had to bring it home.response / report this review -

This is the 2nd time my family has gone here and waited over an hour for our food. With 3 young children too. I can understand that they are busy on a Saturday night, I've lived in Chicago, but I have never waited over an hour AFTER being seated for food, only to have to ask for it to be boxed up before even making it to the table. And with nothing, but a sorry. No discount on our bill offered, no comped appetizer, and missing items even once we got home with our "takeout". (Most expensive takeout meal ever considering we still had to tip our waitress.) I was trying to give them another chance after the first time this happened but after the second (plus leaving items out of our takeout order), we will not be eating here again. I would like to say though that our hostess and waitress were extremely friendly and sympathetic as well as the woman who answered the phone that evening once we got home and realized an item was missing. But by the time we had gotten home, our "dinner out" had been a 2 hour trip and I still ended up with unfed children.

Awesome Everything! Cornbread shaped like skulls so even my little ones love to eat it!! KILLER BBQ and normally there is a decent amount of two wheel scenery out front!

Awesome place, great food. Recently renovated access ramp and outside sitting area. Motorcycle parking spaces in front are a plus.

Awesome ribs. In fact all the food was good. Clam chowder was homemade and delicious. Decor is humble but who cares when the food is tasty and the service is nice. Will be back.

Love it! Took my mother there for her first time to try the deep fried pickles today. She loved them of course. All the food is excellent and the drinks are always good too. Good & quick service, awesome staff!

Service is great, the waitresses are friendly and personable. Best thing on the menu is the pulled BBQ chicken sandwich.
The atmosphere of the restaurant keeps you comfortable while you enjoy your meal and you can read up on the history of the building.response / report this review -

Great BBQ! Probably one of the top 3 in Detroit Metro area. Good atmosphere, good happy hour and good specials. Staff Very friendly. Only downside is the location. A bit out of the way, but worth the drive.

This a great local mom and pop restaurant in the middle of country. Great Food, Good service and great people.
First for those of you who are not familiar this place it is the old Pickle Barrel of which I still call it just a habit. When it was sold and changed names to Bone Heads I was skeptical because I thought they changed into a biker bar. After going there and realizing the new owners didn't change a thing except add BBQ to the menu and few other items.
My family goes there quite often and I have to say the BBQ is just as good as Famous Dave's and cheaper. We have had them cater many family and business events of which everyone raves of the BBQ.
The pickle chips are a must and I have had pickle chips at other restaurants who claim they have pickle chips but nothing measures up.
As for BBQ I would recommend the BBQ chicken, pulled BBQ chicken sandwich minus the cheese, Beef Brisket is fantastic. I am not a pork fan in general but I have heard the BBQ pork is amazing as well.
They do have great salads, chicken breast, burgers and steaks.
They also have really great deserts and fully stocked bar with TVs.
FYI they are closed on Mondays.response / report this review
