This is a beautiful gardens. It's small enough that you could walk it in a few hours, and big enough you could spend a full day here if you wanted to. I will say I didn't see quite the variety of flora that I was expecting, but the grounds are beautifully maintained, and are accessible via well graded dirt or paved paths. Somebody with a walker or a wheelchair should not have too much difficulty here, plus they also offer a 'shuttle' service to certain locations.
We took my parents, and my two kids here, and even my kids were okay with it for the two and a half to three hours we were here. I don't think they would have enjoyed it if we spent 4 plus hours here though.
The cafeteria had some really good food, and the pricing was very inexpensive for the food. That's a definite plus. If you happen to be visiting the house of mouse in Orlando, it's about an hour to an hour and 10 minutes to get here.
The house is less exciting to visit during a non holiday season, but during the various holidays they do decorate it with a theme, and we think it's worth it to visit during those times, especially during Christmas. Access to/theough the house is limited, and won't be easy for somebody who may need some assistance.response / report this review -

One of my favorite places I have ever been. My family moved to Florida when I was 11, and my parents got an annual membership to Bok Tower Garden. It was so beatiful, and relaxing. So many different little forms of wildlife, so much history, and so many beautiful plants. I am now 41, and still go sometimes. Granted it has changed some over the years, it is still as grand and wonderful, and I enjoy it just as much as when I was a child. I recommend it to anyone who steps foot in Florida! The cafe has delicious food, there is a beautiful gift shop, there is carillon music played throughout the day, and they have a wondrous calendar of events. They also have wheel chairs available to use as a convenience to those who need them, and they have trams that ride around who will gladly give you a lift if you need one in order to get to other points of the park.

My boyfriend and I (both big plant enthusiasts) visit Bok Tower Gardens at least once each year. If we lived closer, we would definitely consider membership! A great place to take people of all ages. The new children's garden area is very well done. Even as an adult, I enjoy walking around that area and seeing all the fun activities they have for kids.
If you're only able to go once, I recommend going during the holiday tours where you are able to visit the estate and see the mansion decorated for the holidays. The grounds are beautiful, the holiday decorations will warm your heart, and the volunteers and staff are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. Make sure to save room for a snack because the cafe is delicious! Everything from the coffee to the ice cream is top-notch.response / report this review -

The Bok Tower Gardens is a wonderful surprise. The varied gardens offer unique arrays of plants and flowers. We saw many varieties of butterflies. The cafe was a pleasant stopping place with delicious freshly prepared soup, salads and sandwiches. The cold brew coffee was terrific!

I should listen to people more. We moved here to central Florida five years ago and many have regaled about this lovely place. It took us going to Rootstock today for us to discover and enjoy it.
The grounds are gorgeous, lush and beautifully laid out, and the information provided about the founder - Edward W. Bok - made me an instant fan. Then, there were the gorgeous carillon bells tolling periodically. Beautiful.
There is something for everyone here, so be sure to bring the family. And don't wait five years to get there! Go now!response / report this review -

Lovely gardens that are great for all kind of picnics, adventures, and photo opportunities! We are planning to do our engagement shoot here and everything about it is beautiful from the bell tower to the estate. I would recommend getting the annual membership pass if you're nearby. It includes your day-of admission being reimbursed and it will cover all entry fees as well! Great place to bring your friends and family for a relaxing day or picnic.

Went July, 2017 as part of my honeymoon, and the towers played beautiful music. The gardens were gorgeous and I loved hanging out in the food center, store, and hammock garden! Also the air conditioning and bathrooms were amazing in the hot summer weather! I also toured the house, which was cool but I wish there was more independent touring.

Bok Tower is always a great day trip! Now that they have a large kid area, it is more family-friendly. The cafe is great to grab a quick lunch at, so you can enjoy more time there. There always seems to be plenty of space, so it never appears crowded. We loved attending their dog day in January, where they allow you to bring your dog. The entire property is generally shady, with a lot of trees to keep temperatures down. We purchased a membership and I am so glad we did!

A wonderful date location when it's not too hot/humid/buggy. The gardens are genuinely beautiful. Granted there's a lot of grounds, so the maintenance can be slightly lacking in some areas. But the multiple paths and large trees and flowers and reflecting pond are most inviting. And while you're sitting there, admiring the view down Iron Mountain or the height of the tower, the bells start playing. It's by far the most unique part of the experience, and it really sets this garden apart from any other I've been to. The cafe is a solid "good," as well. This place is all you need for a lovely day with your sweetheart!

A beautiful area to spend a day at. The grounds are beautifully kept. They have a children's garden ( under 5 free). There is cafe ( which I bought some delicious honey wine from.) Beautiful backdrops for wedding photos. Behind the tower, there is an overlook. I would definitely go back, but I will wait for the fall.

Loved this area. Fantastic gardens, so serene ans peaceful. Very interesting as well. We were able to hear the bells which was fantastic as well as meet the gentleman that played them. what a wonderful visit

The gardens are so beautiful! The tower itself is amazing and plays music several times a day. Definitely pay the extra five bucks to tour the manor, that was incredible. Bring your kids, they'll love running around the children's area that has plenty of park benches in the shade for parents to rest.

BEAUTIFUL. Breathtaking views. This is an amazing tower on the highest hill in Florida. I took my wife here for our anniversary and was not disappointed. There is history, gardens, a mansion to tour, a nice little cafe to eat at I highly recommend taking the whole family. Bok tower is easily one of my favorite places in the state.

Always good for a peaceful day. So beautifully designed. The new improvements to the walking paths are a wonderful addition. It is easy to walk and look around without worrying where you are stepping. The hammock play area for children is a unique and fun place. The Cafe was a good place for lunch and ice cream! We live two hours away and it is worth the drive. We will be back!
