I used to live down the mountain from this place love it love it love it
Went this past July (15). Meant to add this earlier, but here I am. Access from the AT is half-mile downhill, steep. A tough climb back up to the trail. Not for novices, but definately worth it. My trek stopped over here for an hour break and lunch. Great view, and out of all primitive facilities I've used, these were some of the best. Water here is fresh and tasted great, no sulfur like some of the other TCs. Couple cabins and campsites available. No utility/electricity hookups for all you gadget junkies. 10/10.
Fantastic trails leading up to the AT. There are two hikers hostels that anyone can occupy for one night and a solar shower.
